So, I was musing about Disney comics and etc., and I suddenly wondered: suppose for a moment that a Disney comics author ripped off another comic (not another comic: a comic from another company), and the comic still got published. If the ripped-off company were to sue, who would take the blame, legally: the author? The publisher? The Walt Disney Company?
The publisher, I believe, since they're the ones legally making the comics. Disney's just licensed the IP to them and the author's working for them, so the publisher has the responsibility.
