I don't like doing "best list", but let's see what I can say.
Writers: 1. Casty 2. Bruno Enna 3. Giorgio Pezzin 4. Floyd Gottfredson 5. Tito Faraci I know it's odd not putting Carl Barks or Don Rosa, but - I've to say it - I don't like them so much.
Artists: 1. Vitale Mangiatordi 2. Giorgio Cavazzano 3. James Silvani 4. Casty 5. Luca Usai You can see I prefer modern art to Barksian art. I don't know quite anything about James Silvani's work, but I see his American covers and they're so great.
That's very interesting, - Floyd Gottfredson on your Top 5 WRITERS' list but NOT artists!

Er... I guess so? I certainly like his art, but it's not my favourite. If it weren't so, why would the art style have been changed through the years? To worsen?

Art style changes because old artists get too old to hold their hand steady and tighten their strokes to a smaller swing for more control. and new artists come along with their own styles, or companies tell their artists to change their style in a certain manner, which they may think will be more well liked by new generations of fans. It's just a matter of taste. I think Barks and Gottfredson are both, by far, the best Disney comics artists, because their art is what first drew me to Disney Comics. You may have grown up with The later Italian artists, and like that best. But, you listed Gottfredson as one of your top 5 favourite writers. I think his writing wasn't very extraordinary. As far as I remember, most of his adventure stories were good because Bill Walsh, Merrill de Maris, Carl Fallberg, and the other writers who had also written for Disney Animation were the main writers on those stories.

I've always known that Gottfredson wrote plots, and his scriptwriters simply established what characters said.
PS- Fallberg hasn't ever written any Gottfredson story. About his scriptwriters- I know I prefer De Maris and Walsh, but I like -more or less- all of them.

I didn't know this. I thought they collaborated on the plots. This is interesting to know.
Artists 1. Carl Barks 2. Daan Jippes 3. William van Horn 4. Romano Scarpa 5. Marco Rota Honorable Mentions: Vicar Bob Gregory Floyd Gottfredson Casty Tony Strobl
Writers 1. Carl Barks 2. Ted Osborne 3. Carl Fallberg 4. Don Rosa 5. Bob Gregory Honorable Mentions: Casty Noel van Horn William van Horn
5. Tony Strobl (beating early Vicar by a hair's breadth)
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat ?! Strobl is really terrible!
I don't agree. I wouldn't put him among my best artists, but he's good. I'm afraid you've only seen the part of his work that was badly inked. However, when the job was done more competently, he could indeed be very good and detailed, though his style is slightly more angular than usual Disney fare.

No, that is not in the colors! No idea why Strobl is so popular here, because in my home country Germany, he is one of the most worst artists!
