The grandmother is called Isaura, I don't know if she's the same Grandma Carioca from the Dutch stories, there's uncle Plínio and another one who seems to be an aunt, whose name is not mentioned.
Brazilian fanartist Lucas Sutto made a Zé Carioca family timeline after my request
I'm glad there are fans who know about Zé Carioca's extended family. I didn't know about it, since I didn't read Zé Carioca comics, until I researched on the internet and various sites and found out quite a lot. And I can't really read, since unfortunately I don't know the Portuguese (Brazilian) language, so I usually wait for someone to translate the comic into English and then I can read it. By the way, I like how this is done just the Zé Carioca family tree.
I believe I have most of these logged in the index that I added into the spreadsheet for the Duck family tree - so if sources are needed on these characters, feel free to check there
If you'd like to cross-reference there to see if anything is missing - I don't know how cleanly it lines up - it's present both in the family tree thread and on mkr's website

I love hearing about bizarre/obscure Disney works - recommendations welcome!
It might be nice to put a Carioca tree as well on the website, just as we have the Duck family tree. I did not read so many Carioca stories (just some Dutch ones), so I am not so familiar with most characters. But with the index and these trees posted here, I might be able to put something together, at a later moment.
By the way, isn't there really any story that links Donald's family to Zé's (even not very indirectly)? Overall, it wouldn't be that surprising, given that there are various types of birds and even dog-faces in Donald's family...
I really don't believe in consistency on a Zé Carioca family tree, because writers just make up cousins and uncles according to the needs of the story they wanna tell. In fact, that's one thing that bothers me in Disney comics, generally speaking. Don Rosa's Duck Tree, for example, is very consistent, but other artists just ignore it whenever they want!

I haven't been able to read many myself, but I have saved the tree drawn previously, which would mean that the only scans you would need would be of the three newly-introduced relatives

In fairness, though, Rosa ignored most artists other than Barks - he missed many Taliaferro included relatives, and of course, he didn't include any created by the likes of Scarpa
I do love Rosa's work, but at the same time, I don't think others should be beholden to it as gospel, especially when there are interpretations predating his that contradict his tree

Yes, and even his father appeared there in the 60s, there are two stories of the discovery of Brazil and they show two Portuguese ancestors on Pedro Alvares Cabral's journey, there is going to be a graphic novel about the History of Brazil, but I doubt it will use some characters, seem to be just Zé, Mickey, Donald, Fethry and Goofy with the same name in each episode of Brazilian history.
So, I made a first version of a Zé Carioca family tree and put it on the same website as the Duck family tree. You can find it here.
I didn't read most stories these relatives appear in, and I don't have that much information on many of these relatives. So, many of them I had to put on a bit arbitrarily. So, just let me know if you see any errors that contradict any source, or if you have any other suggestions for improvements.

It's very good, I was in doubt if Isaura was the same as Oma from Rio, but you put her with Josué. only a few ancestors were missing: the papincas, the viking Zek Ariok and Caballero Carioca from the animated series. inducks.org/story.php?c=B+950216

Yeah, if necessary Isaura could also be the same one as the grandma from the Dutch stories, but since there is no third grandma I am aware of, I thought there isn't really any need to merge the two grandma's.
As for the other ancestors you mention, I am aware of those, but I think they should belong to older generations than the ones that are currently in the tree. So, I didn't include them yet. In a later update I may add some more generations, so the papincas, the caballero and also the ancestors from the time of the discovery of Brazil can be included. For the viking ancestor, the tree would need to go very many generations back though...
