Ever since Barks retired, publishers have been trying to squeeze as many new comics out of his works as possible (and I don't mean this in a bad way). We had 20+ Barks-written Junior Woodchucks stories redrawn by Jippes, a new version of "The Pied Piper of Duckburg", over 10 new comics by Jippes based on story ideas by Barks, a Romano Scarpa comic based on an idea by Barks, and others.
So I am surprised that we have not had an official finished version of the second most popular Duck comic creator's only unfinished Duck comic yet. Yes, I am talking about "The Starstruck Duck". I believe it is inevatable that one day a publisher will make it happen. Ramapith Have you ever tried or thought about making this happen? I think Marco Rota finishing it would be the best possible outcome as he is Don's favourite living Duck comic artist and he has drawn both Donald and Mickey many many times. But he is probably close to retirement so this would be the time to kickstart a "The Starstruck Duck drawn by Marco Rota".
What do you guys think? Would you like to see a professionally drawn, finished version of "The Starstruck Duck"?
don't think it could be finished in its written form. Maybe if Mickey's replaced with a new character to take the role of being in-universe what we have Mickey out-of-universe as.
That said, I also doubt Rosa would particularly want this to happen. While Rota's his favourite living Duck artist he's also always been reticent on the idea of others drawing his stories, AND I don't imagine he'd particularly enjoy, after all these years and strife, Disney finishing a story he left unfinished.
