Not that I disagree with all of your lines of criticisms (there is no denying that the characters aren't as complex as the comic-ones sometimes are, or that the genre-savvy tone is laid on way too heavy at times), though I think calling it a "steaming pile of garbage" is a bridge too far no matter how one slices it. But…
Well, maybe it's too angular to allow you any connection with the characters, but I feel connected to the characters just fine — as does the sizable fandom of non-comic-readers that DT17 has amassed. No one's forcing you to care if you don't, but it's not impossible to care by far.
Ditto. Impossible for you maybe, but most viewers manage it just fine.
Again, from where I and quite a few people are standing, he's a funny walking joke. You can't say things like that in the general case as though they were objective facts. That your sense of humor doesn't match Francisco Angones's doesn't mean either of your senses of humor is more valid than the other, and it does not allow you to act like the people who swing more towards Angones's sense of humor are idiots who don't realize that it "isn't" funny.
The animation is too angular, abstract, and in-your-face edgy to allow any real connection with the characters (to quote Charles Schulz, if you use a style that is too extreme you can never do anything that is at all sensitive),
The characters are also all such over-the-top caricatures that it's impossible to get emotionally invested in them
and Glomgold is an unfunny walking joke.
