Though something I am reasonably impressed by, relatively speaking, is Boyd's voice, where for once a child sounds like a child.
Propably do to the fact that Nicolas Cantu who played him is still a child (well 15 year old but you know what I'm saying) I did liked him in "Sophia the first" over the years where he voiced Prince James.
But voice flavor aside there was a natural inocence to Boyd preformence I did enjoyed. Good job!

So concerning A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill…
A) I liked it,
B) Phooey!!!
C) it is very obvious that it was written by someone who's usually a storyboard designer, though that's not a bad thing, mind you,
D) holy Molly, I didn't dare hope anymore, but I was right way back when in my predictions at the end of Shadow War! Stripping Magica of her powers and making her white-feathered was a way to turn Voldemagica into a more comic-accurate character. In fact, she's right back to Early Barks, a powerless sorceress using what are actually technological gizmos to feign greater magic powers than she possesses, barking grandiloquent threats through the gates of McDuck Manor but resoundingly not taken seriously by the Duck family. I love it.
C) it is very obvious that it was written by someone who's usually a storyboard designer, though that's not a bad thing, mind you,
Actually it's a great thing. Back in the day cartoons use to not have scritps but just started out being story-boarded... Of course back in the day the cartoons didn't had much of a plot but some still do this (Steven Universe) and I think it's when the medium works the best.
I belive that writers who make cartoons should have at least some expirance in how story-boarding works since they have to sell the story visualy.

Well said. One of the many reasons for my hatred of this repulsive show is its oh-so-clever attempt to shout-out to the fans who hated the original Doofus by turning the character into a hateful monster. I actually liked the original Doofus; I do think he should have been given a better character name, but he worked quite well both as Launchpad's sidekick and as HDL's buddy, and wasn't just the "walking fat joke" that he's been dismissed as. Like most of the other characters on DT17, he deserves better, and could have been "rebooted" much more intelligently and interestingly if Angones and company had any actual talent for storytelling or characterization.

Re: Magica at the end of "A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill", I agree that she's been shown to be nothing more that man behind the curtain we're to pay no attention to, rather than the all-powerful, omnipotent dark sorceress she was initially presented to be. There were hints of that when, at the end of the battle in Season 1, the white-feathered and skulking Magica slithered away after her defeat. All the sputtering, ranting Magica we see in this latest episode needed to be Barks-compliant was frazzled hair and foof bombs thrown in futile rage.
And I agree with the point made about the senselessness of using the term "Killmotor Hill". That struck me even before I watched this episode; the Bin in this universe certainly doesn't look like it's on a hill of any note. Is the title an allusion to something else? And I was waiting with bated breath to hear Cat-Louie say he hated Mondays. Another missed opportunity!
Again, nothing quite made me laugh out loud here; the unicorn starting to wonder if he would disappear since no-one was around to hallucinate him, and then doing just that mid-sentence, was amusing. Overall, an improvement over the Doofus birthday episode, but I still liked the Donald episode better.
Oh yes, seeing Phooey finally take form was a highlight.
Doofus as some sort of spoiled sociopath is the least funny thing ever. Please, no more Doofus episodes.
While I didn't care for the oryginal Doofus (honestly I prefer Bubba the cave duck over him) and I do think this version has his share of funny moments - mainly all the interactions with his slaves/parents - I do have one personal issue with the character. I'm sure I mentioned this while talking about "The day of the only child" episode but some of Doofuses outbursts and socialy akward behaviors reminded me of some kids I known who suffered from actual mental problems. And the fact Doofus is a *kid* makes his behavior feels less like funny cartoon insanity and more like a disturbed person who seriously needs help and theraphy.
But I woudn't hold this against the writers as I'm sure that wasn't their intention. It's still to over the top for me to complain it got to close to real life and I don't want to be one of those adults who who get offended about cartoons just because it reminded them of something. If the had to change Burger Beagle to avoid steping on people sensebiltiies I'm sure this woudn't fly If it was border-line mockery of actual mental illness so I'm propably the only one who get's familiar vibe from watching this.
That aside, I do agree that character felt run into the ground at this point and I can't imagine another Doofus episode without making even people who like him get sick of the character and jokes about how disturbed he is. I woudn't mind if they find a new angle on him in the future but at this point I can't imagine them doing the Doofus/Launchpad friendship (other then parody of the movie/book "Misery", which at this point would just be "Doofus kidnaps a person he loves" joke again)

I did not watch the episode, but I support this message. What kind of people laugh at that character?

I think Doofus-17 should have been retired after his initial appearance in "Day of the Only Child". I can understand Angones' team wanting to shake things up and completely reimagine a not-well-liked character from the original series in an outrageous and dramatic manner, but it should have stayed a one-time joke. As others have pointed out, a sociopathic spoiled-brat whose emotionally abused parents seem to be trapped in a torturous relationship with their only child is just not funny.

Well, in theory even such a type of character could be funny, if well managed. But this specific instance is not.
Similar considerations for the headless horse. It is a very extreme and unrealistic character, even for the standards of this series. So let him appear only when you really have something funny to make him say or do, not just for the sake of it.
Ostensibly it's a reference to A Nightmare on Elm Street, with Magica as the villainous supernatural figure invading people's dreams and turning them into nightmares that might have real-world consequences. Doesn't explain why they went with "Killmotor Hill" in particular, though.

This episode does set up (unfortunately) another possible Doofus storyline, in which Doofus has to come to terms with his new "brother" B.O.Y.D., and the fact that he no longer has the same financial power over his parents. So a storyline about an eventually reformed Doofus is a possibility, maybe even swallowing his pride and asking Louie for help after nothing else works. At least B.O.Y.D. can defend himself, being a robot and all.
I liked Glomgold and his "son" Sharkbait. Glomgold just gets weirder every time we see him. This show's version of Goldie...I don't like her.
On a more positive note, I liked the nightmare episode. Webby's Uncle Scrooge cosplay is adorable. We need a Webby-Scrooge plushie now. The writers of every Disney Channel teen show probably either loved or hated "Dewey High". "I just failed something called 'Dew-ology'..." Louie apparently dreams of being Garfield. Phooey now has a visualisation. Are they going to make Phooey canon now? Editor Bob Foster coined the name "Phooey" in an Uncle Scrooge letters page in the 1990's, I think. It was a fun episode, and it brought Magica back to something closer to Carl Barks' version, reduced to screaming and throwing fits because her plans fizzle out. It's an interesting plot twist that Lena now has Magica's magic.
Phooey to me is another prove that people behind the show do love the duck lore just (as someone once put it here) "have questionoble tastes" sometimes. I can imagine him re-apeare in some alternative timeline during the "Timephoon" episode.
I woudnt mind Doofus redemtion arc and having him learn to get along with BOYD is a fun idea.
OK! So I've seen "GOLDEN ARMORY OF CORNELIUS COOT".
I would lie if I would say this episode grasp me as I didn't found it oveall that strong but there is nothing to hate about it either.
I do appriciate it was just trying to be (finaly) a simple treasure hunt, I do like they use some comic lore, I like the open-air museum of pioneers seting and it's nice to see the Beagles at the villains agian... This must be their biggest role since the "Bealge Birthday Massacre" at the start of season one. They are still seting up them wanting to reclame Duckburg as their own as they appere to have a lot of family history related to the towns history. The Beagles don't do much villian-wise here aside for trying to "grab the kids" (per usual) but at least they explore more of their relationships... I did feel sort of sorry for Big-Time.
Della/Launchpad B-plot was ok, I guess but nothing to write home about. No set-up romance, so another wasted prediction on my part. I can't think of a joke that made me laugh but nothing that made me roll my eyes either.
I can't help to compare an episode like this to many episodes of old show where before reaching the final treasure kids would have like five dangerous adventures on the way and all we got here is just the scene with the spiders and the expectation-reverse cart chase... which was an ok joke but could have been some much more.
Is it odd that so-happenes that the Beagles are looking for the treasure same day as the kids? I don't know, at first I was thinking there will be some conection like Ma's spies discovered Webby found a clue to Coots armory or something, but nope, it's just a lucky (for the Beagles) coincidence... But I don't mind it.
Big-Time going insane with the spiders was "meh" to me. Felt it could have been much more funny.
I did however like the twist of what titular golden armory was which is nice nod to Rosa's story. It was very clever and made the episode "climax" at least a bit interesting to me.
Finaly there is Webby's arc... When she first reacted to Della I was honestly sure they are planing to go super-deep into something like she envy the boys for geting their mom back while she is still an orphan or something... They didn't do that and what we got was just ok, but I don't know. It left me with "That's it, huh?". Couldn't help to think this would work better if this was an arc for what of the boys wanting to be more like their legendary mom... In Webby case it just felt somewhat out-of nowhere.
Just felt like one of more forgettable episodes as a whole and got dull in the middle.
