Remember that according to early material, how Scrooge and Goldie still look so young despite their absurd age will actually be explored in the show. If anyone has doubts, someone recently asked Angones again and he reinforced that the reason of Scrooge and Goldie's youthfulness was "spoilers".
"Spoilers" is a stock answer he employs for several questions, kind of a running joke with him I guess (that has long ceased to be funny, IMHO), so I wouldn't necessarily read too much into that. In Scrooge-17's case, the character obviously appears old and decrepit in-universe (based on other characters' comments about him). Goldie-17 is clearly physically designed to look, if not young then at least much younger than Scrooge (compared to her comics appearances or Goldie-87, for sure). I'd be very surprised if they bothered to explain it, but if they did it would probably involve time-travel or the supernatural again, and that wouldn't be much better in my book. Not that I would actually mind if they did make Goldie much younger than Scrooge on this show (they've deviated so much from established comics lore that it wouldn't really matter at this point), so if that's what they're going with, fine. But I'm afraid they'll probably just expect us to accept that they're contemporaries despite looking to be of such different ages.

I mean, he does relish in using "Spoilers" as often as possible, but I don't think it's ever without some justification. "Is Glomgold a brony? Spoilers", and three episodes later, bam, Missing Links of Moorshire and its walking MLP references. So combined with the early statements concerning Scrooge and Goldie's immortality being “one of the running mysteries of the show”, I think we should take that answer with a modicum of seriousness.
And Scrooge looks old, but, much as in the comics, 70's-old, not 100-something old. Besides, however he may look, he constantly demonstrates physical prowess well beyond anything even a 75-year-old man would usually be capable of.
It may be kind of the obvious answer, but if I had to bet I would say one of Goldie and Scrooge's past adventures led them to uncover the Fountain of Youth. Possibly Goldie had a little more of it than Scrooge.

Okay, JAW$ is generally good. Miscellaneous notes:
One thing I noticed is that Scrooge is just dumping all the treasures in the bin, including the jewels and stone artifacts, not just the gold coins. Does Rosa's Trophy Room not exist in the 2017 Continuum? …Well, considering all the cursed treasure lying about McDuck Manor in general, I suppose not, but it did surprise me. We sure didn't see any non-cash treasures in the Bin the last few times we saw it…
They're getting creative with how Shadow-Magica moves. It's true that it may be a little too cartoony at times, but they could just have had her as a generic living shadow (like her obvious inspiration from Magica's Shadow War). Points for trying at the very least. Similarly, love what they did with Tiffany.
Scrooge hates magic and doesn't allow spellbooks in McDuck Manor………but a bunch of magical artifacts are a-okay? Think, writers, dammit. I know you can do it.
Roxanne Featherly is hilarious.
So wait, is the ruined-temple-theatre-thing Magica and Lena's lair? I thought Lena was just kind of randomly hanging out there in Beagle Birthday.

I think he's ok with them since they are stored in a safe place (Garage) and before the boys arived they where apparently not used for decades.
Was Santa on Webby's picture Winnie the Pooh? If so, nice refrence.
Know as Maciej Kur, Mr. M., Maik, Maiki, Pan, Pan Miluś and many other names.
I'm now rewatching the episode and I noticed something for the first time - So the "$" symbol on Scrooge's Money Bin in this version is a... glass window? Seams to be a seriously bad idea as it just makes more easy for Beagles and such to brake in...
Huh... I just realized. How ironic is that if the Shark didn't swallowed Dewey he would most likley got seriously injured if the show sticks to the "Only Scrooge can swim in money" rule

I liked Jaw$. We finally get to see more of Lena and Magica, and Scrooge gets some great character moments. I liked the nods to Jack and the Beanstalk, with the giant coin and the beanstalk destroying large chunks of Duckburg. The TV interview did make me think of “Send in the Clones” and the money shark plot with Lena slipping the magic jewel into Scrooge’s bin made me think of Marco Rota’s “The Money Ocean”, but the episode suceeeds at being its own story despite these borrowings.
Propably your right. And true, my first instinct was "Glomgold looks like some sort of a movie director" and then I jump to Moore do to Glomgold's overweight...
Spilberg didn't had his trademark hat for so long I forgot it was iconic for his image.
He does look like Moore and I still waiting to see the episode where the air pirates and Don Carnage fights one of the nephews.

I think he is against using magic to achieve goals, because he sees it as a lazy shortcut. Going into adventures and finding magical artifacts is okay because they are the prize, not the means. He uses his wealth, technology, intellect and skills to find these treasures, not incantations or the occult. So in his point of view he earns it just as much as any non-magical treasure. Also so far all the artifacts we saw are in his garage showing he doesn't exactly value them.
With that said he does effusively compliment Webby for coming up with the idea of using a Medusa gauntlet to stop Pixiou but that was more about her being pro-active and insightful in a critical situation (he was about to lose all his gold to the dragon after all...)
So, it seems that there's now some sort of... DuckTales geocaching thing: www.geocaching.com/promotions/promo/ducktales/. I figured I'd post that here in case anyone was interested in it.
Well, I just watch Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains
Fresh reaction : (some Spoilers)
It's funy - on one hand Goldie/Scrooge history has little to no to do with the comics, on other hand this is a second episode in the row that felt like the comics - in the spirt.
I like we finally got a Scrooge-centric story where boys play a minor role (They only in the first five minutes and briefly near the end, and Webby only makes a cameo) and that it center on a treasure hunt and a classic old-school adventure with some actual perils/adentures on the way. It's also an interesting treasure, a bit like the final one from "Treasure of the Golden Suns".
I love all the Scrooge/Goldie relationship stuff and Goldie in general. Part where they dance while talking was great and the fight near the end... wonderful, and yes, you can tell this version of Goldie was inspired by Catwoman from the comics (the running joke with Scrooge doing something awsome and explaining it "I'm Scrooge McDuck" aslo appears to be inspired by the "I'm Batman" meme)
Scrooge going to Glomgold party just to take as many free food he can - great joke. At the begining of the show I was worry that the writers will realy play down Scrooge thriftiness and lust for money but this episode and the previews one realy make up for it with some great "Scrooge is cheap" moments. Same with Scrooge finaly having some action on his own. I felt that previews episodes spent more on people talking on what great adventurer Scrooge is rather then actualy SHOW IT.
One or two annoying moments aside, I didn't mind Glomgold in this episode. He's still cartoonishly evil/lame but at least all his atemps felt more closer to what he would do in the comics and he was an actual threat in few scenes...
The mammoth was clearly nod to Rosa and the bear to Blackjack from oryginal Barks story. If they going to ignore the comics I like that they still put in some visual reminders.
I like music near the end(when Goldie is on the ship), reminded me of Duck Tales video game.
So yhe, It was mostly a good episode that felt closer to what I wanted from a Duck Tales remake .
What I didn't like :
- I don't like them sugesting that Scrooge is over hundret years. I mean In a way I like the acknowledge that if it's take place in modern time Scrooge should be way over 100 years to be part of Klondike Goldrush but at the same I like to think of Scrooge being "only" about 70, 80 tops... maybe 60. Explenation he spent some time in pararell universe isn't exactly satisfying... - Same with Scrooge and Goldie being trap in the ice for five years... Come on! - Dewie trying to be cool at the party (doing the moonwalk etc.)- meh! - Glomgolds fantasy drawn old comic book style - felt like a pointless filler and a joke I've seen many times before in modern cartoons. - Shame the bear disapear in the last 1/3. I liked him.

Yep, it's as I guessed: Goldie found the Fountain of Youth, in Ronguay, hence her youthful appearance.
Also, this Goldie is still feeling a lot like River Song.
When they began trying to remember the airship captain's name I wondered if they were teasing Don Karnage; nope, turns out it's a Hidentanic reference about Capt. Foghorn. Weird that he'd be temporally displaced like that. Speaking of references, the one to Rainbow Cave is much appreciated.
pinkpearlapple asked: I am sorry if I'm a pain in the butt. Did they leave beakly and Webby tied up? And where was Donald? (Sorry its been bugging me a it every since I saw the episode this morning)
Angones: They untied Beakley and Webby.
And for all future reference, the answer to “where’s Donald?” is almost always “working hard to fix the houseboat so they can move out of the mansion and back to the marina”.
So... is that comment another indication that Donald's absence will go on for the rest of the season? I mean, he will probably have a large role in the season finale but this comment really bugged me. Next episode will be centered around the boys. It seems each one of them will be involved in a different plot, so that is already a handful to a show that usually works with an A and B plot even though of course their adventures will intertwine. It will probably be the whole point: they work much better together balancing each others' shortcomings. Anyway...that was an episode that at least starts in McDuck's Mansion so I was hoping Donald would play a role. But now seeing the promo I think we are lucky to get a five second cameo.
I hope he tags along with the group at least in The Secret(s) of Castle McDuck! and The Last Crash of the Sunchaser! He is confirmed in The Night of de Spell! and like a said I think it's a given he will be around for The Day of the Ducks!
I doubt he will be in From the Confidental Casefiles of Agent 22, The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck! and Who is Gizmoduck?!
Sky Pirates… in the Sky! it seems will focus solely on Dewey in a similar way The Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains! focuses on Scrooge alone.

Donald being a RINO (Regular in Name Only) on DuckTales '17 is something I've sadly come to accept. I can't see how they could convincingly exclude him from the main storyline(s) of "Day of the Only Child!", as it centers around the boys' familial situation, but I'm sure they'll find a way. Is that ... Doofus in the Louie scenes of the promo? I mean, I don't care about him but we were told he'd be "evil" or some such ... maybe they meant a spoiled brat (which is what he appears to be here, if it is him)?
