I was surprised to recently learn that the first voice actor for Scrooge was not Bill Thompson in Scrooge McDuck and Money (1967), but Dal McKennon in a Disneyland LP album called Donald Duck and his Friends. You can hear a sample here:
On a related note, why didn't Alan Young voice Scrooge in Soccermania? And who's going to provide the character's voice in the new DuckTales series? Alan Young is still doing the honors in the new Mickey Mouse shorts, but you can tell it's more of an effort than it used to be.

I already knew about Dal McKennon's Scrooge… I have no idea why Young didn't voice the old tightwad in "Soccermania", though. As for the new DuckTales series, I hope with all my heart that Young will reprise his role… but who knows ?
Unfortunately, Young will not be reprising his role as Scrooge in the new series --- the show's voices are going to be cast from scratch.
Though I know there are a lot of varied opinions concerning Scrooge's voice, I personally always liked Young's rendition.
It will be strange, and a little sad, to not hear his voice connected with the character.
Given their ages, I can perhaps see the logic of finding alternatives to Alan Young and June Foray. But are they really going to recast Russi Taylor's HD&L, or Tony Anselmo's Donald (who looks set to have a major role)? Those actors have voiced their respective characters for decades now. Not casting them seems to simply be change for the sake of change.

Although I mostly agree with you, I could perhaps see a reason for recasting Donald, if they do. I think it would be to give him a "normal" voice (which I would be unhappy about, since I'm one of those who still think of him as quacking in the comics, but I know some Barks fans like Don Rosa don't agree with me). As for the nephews, we have already speculated based on the released concept art that they seem to be slightly older than in the original show (if not than in the comic), which means perhaps they want a more mature voice.
The characters I can hardly see recast on the other hand would be Launchpad, and, actually, Scrooge. (Although I'm also used to his more high-pitched French voice provided by Philippe Dumat -- watch a French-dubbed episode for a sample, if you want).

Although I don't hear Donald's quacking voice when I read the comics, and although I subscribe to the widely held view that the comics Donald and the animated Donald are two separate characters, I can't abide a situation where this "comics" Donald is brought to the screen and given a "normal" voice in any context, even in a more serious adaptation of Barks' comics universe. Tony Anselmo did a good job of modulating Donald's voice to be fairly comprehensible in Quack Pack, where he had a lot of lines and at times carried the episode himself. That voice wouldn't be out of place in the DuckTales show, IMHO. Anselmo's rendition of Donald tends, overall, to be easier to understand than the original Clarence Nash version; the difference is subtle, but there if you listen carefully enough.
I hope they don't try changing Donald's voice for this series.
Never bought into the two seperate characters approach to Donald (seemed a bit too much of a stretch for me).
Personally I think Anselmo's more "raspy" Donald fits in just fine. I'd be surprised if they recast the character --- though I will admit I understand the reasoning behind recasting the other parts due to the age of the actors.
