I just hope that the animation doesn't make them look too much like old bubblegum with noodle-limb animation, like most of the North-American animated series we have gotten these years...

- It is legal and socially accepted to go outside with your lower body naked, if you're a duck. (I guess it is because of the feather layer?)
- Being the richest man in the world and keeping ancient coins worth billions of dollars does not mean you should have a decent security system: installing wooden signs with "Go away" written on them is fine, too. Just having an underpaid overworked lazy nephew, an elderly secretary and a skinny butler are good enough personnel for all those valuable riches and such an important and influent businessman.
- Just because you are the nephew of the richest man in the world does not mean you will be famous for that; most people will act like they have never heard of you in your life. Not even if you were several times a national celebrity, accomplished incredible feats in front of the whole world to see or accidentally destroyed the city and annoyed its inhabitants enough times that you were forced to hide in a foreign country.
- There are no social services in Duckburg. Why would three small children still be in the care of an irresponsible, unstable man who can barely sustain himself and who has major anger issues?
- If you are a lazy, clumsy and unstable guy, you will somehow be motivated enough to be focused, clever and responsible when assuming the double identity of a masked vigilante.
- You may be a powerful witch with many magical powers, but it's apparently too complicated to teleport inside a room to retrieve a coin, or just having the coin be teleported at your home.

Although I do agree that the extremely stingy Scrooge is not without its merits, there is one story that goes overboard with it, really, really. So, long story short, Donald has suggested Scrooge use an invention of Gyro's on his money, but it turns out there is a big flaw in the plan and the money is going to melt. Cue this.
(I did the translation myself, and it is most literal).
This is funny, because I just happened to buy an old "Picsou Magazine" that featured this story! I was quite shocked by Scrooge giving a direct DEATH THREAT to Donald!
"Only DEATH remains for you!"
Later...

You had a Dutch flag, as I remember, or perhaps an EU flags. I had a Dutch flag when in The Netherlands, but Harry Fluks had an EU flag. Sometimes servers in EU countries had an EU flag show. The flags reflected the registered location of the Internet server used. I think it would be best to have an optional showing of a flag, for those members who don't want their location made public.
Sure! Many websites now have an option to show your gender and age, or not. So why not the location?

There's a story called Paperino e l'anello dei desideri("Donald and the ring of desires"). It was written by Jerry Siegel, whom you might know better as the co-creator of Superman!
Siegel's stories tend to feel like vintage USA horror-SF stories from the 1950s and 1960s, which I think is pretty cool! (a story of his I especially like is Uncle Scrooge and the Journey to the Non-Existing Land, which has some intense moments)
So! Donald and the ring of desires has a lot of moments that made me laugh! Although it is a special kind of humor for me!
In this story, Donald finds a magical ring that was left behind by a Native American witch doctor. The ring has the power to grant all wishes!
Donald decides to use the ring to get revenge on all the people who annoy him!
Donald sees Daisy has gone on a date with Gladstone (after they snobbishly rejected him). So...
Donald:"Give a shake to Gladstone's arm!" Daisy:"Eeeek!" Gladstone:"Huh? Ex... excuse me, Daisy!"
Daisy:"You... soaked my dress!" Gladstone:"My arm went on its own! I swear!" Daisy:"Well, my hand also goes on its own! You fiend!"
I love how Gladstone's excuse is true, but he looks so pathetic/unconvincing/embarrassed while saying that! (especially because it sounds like the agressive "My arm slipped" kind of excuse used in fighting scenarios!)
Donald also wants to get revenge on his annoying, patronizing nephews... in this story, they are obsessed about winning medals among the Junior Woodchucks. So...
Huey and Louie:"Plenty of medals!" "But who brought them?" Dewey:"Wonderful!"
And then, like a nasty child who eats the peanut he was offering to an elephant...
Huey, Dewey and Louie:"Awww! The medals! They... they vanished!" Dewey:"This can't be!" Huey:"We had so much! Boohoo!" Huey:"You saw that, Uncka Donald! What happened?" Donald:"What do you know? Certainly some sorcery!"
Tee hee hee!! POP, it's all gone! Mwa ha ha ha!
And last but not least... Donald finally goes on a dinner date with Daisy. However, a bully bumps in, flirting with Daisy and agressively mocking Donald. He threatens to fight him. Donald suggests they go outside.
Bully:"He is being reasonable!" Donald:"I would like to be ten times bigger!" Narration:"Almost immediately..." Bully:"Ugh! How did you do that?" Donald:"Heh! Heh! Where there is a will, there is a way, fat guy!"
I love that casual explanation!
Donald:"Do you know that I am hungry?" Bully: "Nooo! Please! I... I am not edible!" Donald: "You are lucky! Get lost!"
I like to see Donald in these empowering situations!
A very funny story where we see what Donald can do if he becomes an all-powerful troll.

One of the best stories I've read, an epic story with great execution! With a lot of nods to the Scrooge and Donald mythos to make it feel like a more cohesive universe!
I don't mind the Italian side too much, I grew with them... of course, I tend to see it as a more-or-less different continuity than the Barks-Rosa one.
Yeah, I always thought it was weird to have Donald as the Duck Avenger... him being an irresponsible and unbalanced loser and somehow being able to function as a competent and strong superhero... and I thought it was also a bit funny that you have both of these in this story!
In my headcanon, I always thought of the Duck Avenger as set in a different continuity... or at the very least, when Donald puts on this identity, he becomes cool and competent because of psychological motivation.
And now, BBJ, you've made me discover that the "Zodiac Stone" saga has been translated in English!! I ordered a 1996 Italian magazine so I could read it, and I recently went through it with an Italian-French dictionary... didn't know it'd be published in the USA instead of France! (after all, it is Spectrus' debut)

I think we could display some cool Disney art related to the Disney Comics...
What would be nice would be if you (and TheKKM and anyone who wants to) drew this art. That way the forum would be illustrated in a totally exclusive manner.
What would you like to see?

Orora is good for the otherworldly snoozing prettiness, and the female lovely-plants-loving empowered evil-doer could be named Semiramis.
This is funny, because it was my idea from the beginning!
(And I just found out that not only both of these characters were drawn by Massimo De Vita, but they also had the same writer for the stories: Fabio Michelini!)
King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon was said to be the one who told his architects to build the gardens, to please his queen, who came from the mountains in Persia, which had ample water and greenery. She only inspired her husband's orders to his builders, talking about what her homeland was like.
Thank you for clarifying it to me! The French Wikipedia is not very clear about this.
Would you have an opinion on what name would suit this supervilainess best?
--- Gaucelm de Villaret gaucelm@gmail.com --- gaucelm.blogspot.fr twitter.com/GothHelm --- facebook.com/gaucelm
Orora : Oh yes? Do publish that story/the sketches of it/the plot in the Art Place. Lady Flora is good, but it's probably already used somewhere else, it's so obvious. So yes, Semiramis is an awesome name.
@baar Baar Jinx: I'm not veyr fond of Dickie Duck and Jubal Pomp, but, uh… unless I'm very much mistaken, Brigitta McBridge is also her original Italian name, so you can't say it's betrayal. And I also hate "Quackmore" for Baptist. He'll always be Baptist for me.
So yeah, Lady Flora is also the name of a real noblewoman who was around Queen Victoria. I don't think it would bother many people. Semiramis was a queen of Babylone and is famous for building the "Hanging Gardens". Because the flower-themed supervilainess loves flowers and is surrounded by many plants, I thought it could work.
As for the "Sleeping Beauty in the Stars", I thought of calling her Orora, because the name of the princess in the original "Sleeping Beauty" fairy tale is Aurora. That's right, it inspired my username! (spelling it differently so she isn't confused with Disney's own Aurora a.k.a. Briar Rose) Of course, you could also call her "Thalia" (an older version of "Sleeping Beauty") or "Dornroschen" (another version) or go with "Oror"...

-I have seen this Paperinik/Phantom Duck mobile game before and I was wondering why the creators used the DuckTales Beagle Boys instead of the original Beagle Boys? This mobile game made me thinking that it take place in an alternate DuckTales universe where Paperinik exists.
-I agree that "Super Duck" is not a good name because it does not sounds so original and it was already used in various non-Disney series like the Archie Super Duck comics that you mentioned in the link. I have visited this page before and yes, the character designs in those comics looks similar to the Disney duck designs but not sure how much of a "Donald knock-off" it was.
-The flower-themed supervillainess looks very interesting but it's too bad that they didn't gave her a name and that they didn't make her a recurring villain. I think it would be interesting if they bring her back.
- Yeah, I didn't like that they used the DuckTales Beagle Boys - with Ma Beagle instead of Blackheart Beagle... but I guess the developers did it because DuckTales is more famous with more people, so they will recognize it better.
- I bought a "Super Duck" comic, and the fact that it is a knock-off is not even the worst part. It's not well-drawn, it's not funny, it's awkward, it's badly written, it's badly edited and there is no strong sense of identity. "Super Duck" is Donald Duck in red overalls, and he is cross-eyed. He has a nephew called "Fauntleroy" (just like Donald's middle name!! Coincidence? I think NOT) who is a copy of Huey/Dewey/Louie. There are "dognose" people who are very ugly and look very weird. Super Duck has a dognose friend who is a copy of Goofy... if Goofy was decomposing and turning into dust. The best thing is Uwanna, who manages to actually look glamorous and have some class (depending on the artist, of course).
- Yeah, I loved that story; the supervillainess was fun, had a cool design, a cool evil lair, cool gadgets... Mickey and Iga Biva call her "You evil woman! You evil-doer!" and she answers with a big smile "Thank you, heh heh! It's too much compliments!". I'd love to see her come back, and actually know who or what she is. If it remains a mystery, fine, but giving her a name is the most basic thing to do.
I too prefer "Phantom Duck" over "The Duck Avenger", although it might be that since in France he is named "Phantomiald", I am used to a name beginning by "Phantom". And I also prefer a name that can easily be used as a proper name ("Phantom Duck"), instead of what is essentially a title ("THE Duck Avenger"), since the original Italian name is also a proper name.
As for the supervilainess… I'd rather think of her as a plant person, and as for a name, what about Violet Rose Forsythia?
- Yeah, exactly what I meant about Paperinik's name.
- She could be a plant person... but how did she come to be? Would she simply be like Poison Ivy? Why not? I thought of different names such as "Lady Flora" or "Semiramis", but that could work too.
I drew sketches of a story where the flower supervillainess teams up with the "Sleeping Beauty In The Stars", an alien princess warrior who appeared in the Sword of Ice series, also drawn by Massimo de Vita.
Funnily enough, the "Sleeping Beauty In The Stars" is also another character I thought was very cool, but only appeared once and was never given an actual name!
Yes, she inspired my avatar.
In fact, at the end of the story, the other characters realize they don't even know her name, and so Goofy says to her, "Farewell, Nameless princess!".
