Yeah, when I saw the cover to this Comics and Stories issue, I immediately thought "Wow, that looks great!" It sucks that the translation inside will most likely not be as good.
Will this book be part of the Disney Masters series? Amazon calls it Mickey All-Stars (The Disney Masters Collection), and it's being published by Fantagraphics, but it doesn't seem to be part of the series otherwise. It looks interesting, anyway!
Man, this books sounds epic. Why couldn't we get something like this for the 90th anniversary instead of that subpar Missing Memories book IDW put out?

That's kind of what it is, considering the original French edition by Glenat was made for the 90th anniversary (it came out in June 2019).
Have to say, pretty intriguing cover for Disney Comics and Stories #13:
Am I the only one who sees this and thinks “Dippy! Dippy Dawg/Dippy the Goof!”?
It's a story by Artibani and Pastrovicchio from 2 years ago. I read it in Italy. Whenever they do a story featuring the "vintage trio" I always try to have it. You can read my spoiler-free comment in the inducks link. (I am happy there are names now in the comment section of the database.)
I have an Italian anthology of their stories. If this volume don't overlap too much with that, I am looking forward to it.
Monkey, if the anthology you mean is Tesori International #5, then many of the stories are indeed the same—but while the Italian collection includes some stories in remounted, 6-panel format as reprinted in the old Topolino, our book will have all stories in the original 8-panel layout, as first drawn by Hubbard.
Some of these original versions have been incredibly hard to find, but colleagues in Milan, Burbank, and at Egmont helped me track them down. No one publisher still had everything in the original format.

Yes, that is my collection. Only nine out of the eighteen stories are in the original 8-panel page and with modern colouring. Basically all those that the editors of Zio Paperone managed to 'restore', before the magazine was closed in 2006. The other half are in the 6-panel layout, as they were originally published in Italy: old cheap unrealistic colouring and some panels reshaped or partially cut to fit into the page. More importantly, I was not satisfied with the Italian translation, both in the old stories and in the restored ones. (For the latter I suspect that they used a literal translation, which feels a bit weird in Italian.) In the end it was quite a good collection, I mean, 230 pages in a relatively big format for 7€, one cannot really complain! But I will definitely give a try to this US one, especially if the dialogues are managed by your team.

I didn't even know you could see comments for a story on Inducks by clicking on the rating number (in this case 7.1/10)! Very interesting!
Does anyone know about the future of Fantagraphics' Carl Barks' Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge Series? They seem to be well behind in announcement of the next Boxed sets, and the follow-up to the next Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge single book releases for next summer/fall. They seem to be several months behind where they used to be announcing release dates and taking pre-orders.
First time poster as I just discovered this place but the above had me checking Fantagraphics and... They just put up the newest Carl Barks volume on their site. Volume 23, scheduled for September 22, will be Donald Duck: Under the Polar Ice. www.fantagraphics.com/#/product/3093
While I’d love to see this series sped up a bit, three volumes a year vs two, I’m glad to see things keep on coming. Have they said when they’ll do the first four volumes or why they skipped them?

If I'm not mistaken, they released the volumes in the order that they thought would sell best. I'm not sure when they're going to release the skipped volumes.

The next one - "Under The Polar Ice", is now into artwork that I like significantly less than Barks' first four volumes' artwork. So, I wish they would release the first four next. I'd like to still be alive when they are released, and at least enjoy his 1943-1959 work in a single hardbound colour set. I already have one in German, but don't enjoy reading in that language. I want to have complete Barks in hardbound, colour, and at least in English or Dutch language before I die. I assume Fantagraphics management think that many more potential buyers will be nostalgic for mainly 1948-1962 (end of Dell), than will those for 1942-1947. But I grew up with 1942-58 in my "Classical Golden Disney Comic years", so I'd rather get the early ones now. But, probably, there will be only one more "Donald Duck" book, and maybe one more "Uncle Scrooge" book after "Under The Polar Ice". I doubt that those 4 early volumes are being held off for finishing of any linework (rehabilitation/rescuing of original artwork) projects.

I personally hope they keep pushing on into the '60s, as the early '40s work has seen a LOT of reprinting. We are at the point of having books filled with stories that have never seen modern reprints outside of the B/W CBL, so bring it on.

I assume you mean outside of the B/W CBL and the Color CBL from the 90s. They are all included there as far as I know.
