OK so I had this strange dream the other day about an unproduced Disney comic starring Goofy.
Its plot went like this: At the beginning, Goofy is sitting at home reading a newspaper, when all of a sudden, he hears his doorbell. He opens the door and this generic dogface mailman gave him a letter. After the mailman leaves, Goofy opens the letter and it turns out to be an invitation to a party that Mickey is holding at his house (for whatever reason I can't remember or don't know). Goofy leaves his house and this sewer alligator leaps from a manhole just outside Goofy's house and stalks him, with the purpose of eating him of course. Goofy is unaware of the alligator the entire trip, but whenever the alligator prepares to eat Goofy, something always happens that causes Goofy to get out of the way of its jaws (the first one involved the generic dogface milkman throwing a milk bottle at Goofy (he didn't see him) and Goofy notices and ducks in time, causing the alligator to get hit instead. I can't remember the others). When Goofy finally arrives at Mickey's house, we see he has invited lots of Mouseton characters, such as Minnie, Horace, Clarabelle, Chief O'Hara, Detective Casey, Eega Beeva, Ellsworth, and even Ellroy (can't remember seeing anyone else there but there might have been others). Mickey tries to point out the alligator to Goofy ("Since when did you have a pet alligator, Goofy?") but Goofy takes no notice ("Whut are yuh talkin' about, Mickey?"). The alligator smells some meat, gives up on Goofy, and runs to the food table. It's only then that Goofy sees the alligator who eats everything on the food table. The final panel is the alligator, now with a "balloon belly", patting his stomach, while Goofy is complaining to O'Hara to arrest the alligator.
And the only Duckburg character in the story was Gyro Gearloose, who appeared on the photo on the front of the newspaper Goofy is reading at the beginning (I can't remember the headline, but it was probably "Famous inventor invents popcorn-less buttered popcorn" as a reference to Gyro's debut, where he says he's "going home and invent butterless buttered popcorn".)
So how about you? Did you ever have dreams or nightmares about Disney comics or even cartoons?
