I guess we need a separate thread to discuss ancillary details in the Life of Scrooge series, since there doesn't seem to already be one and it's better than starting a new thread for every little question.
To start off: Did Rosa ever say why he chose to have Scrooge name his horse after his sister? I know the in-universe explanation that they both have bad tempers, I was just wondering if it was a Barksian fact that Scrooge had a horse named Hortense. Rosa didn't mention it in his accompanying text pieces. Also, did he ever explain what happened to Horse Hortense? She just disappears between Chapters Four and Five when Scrooge travels back to Scotland.
Rosa has the horse wander off after announcing "I quit! Effective immediately!" to the reader in Part 4. Bringing her back in Part 6B, after Scrooge has left Montana, gone back to Scotland, then gone to South Africa, then returned to the Wild West, was a definite continuity error--which I wouldn't point out if Rosa didn't make such a big deal of his "universe's" internal consistency.

Are we sure it's the same horse, rather than Scrooge using the same pet name for a newly-purchased, new horse? To be sure, Rosa draws her similarly to the earlier Hortense, but he kinda draws all horses the same.
