Just a quick question--I see that Al Taliaferro has been credited with creating Grandma Duck (as well as Huey, Dewey and Louie). The comics strips in which Grandma Duck first appeared were drawn by Taliaferro, but written by Bob Karp--has there ever been made clear which of the two came up with the character?

Most sources I have read give credit to Taliaferro for her creation. Grandma Duck is supposedly based on Taliaferro's mother in law Donnie M. Weathon, an old-fashioned woman with a similar haircut who lived on a farm. I don't know if she was a vidow or not by the time Grandma Duck was created, but if she was then it would be another similarity.
So, even though Karp is credited for the writing and Taliaferro for the drawing of the Donald Duck strips, it seems Taliaferro did occasionally do some writing too. Of course, having first hand sources (like interviews to Taliaferro) would be better than relying on articles that don't mention where they took their info from.
