(A now-deleted post asked if IDW's new DONALD AND MICKEY has gone from being a series to being an isolated special, because the first one as printed has no number on the front cover and says "one-shot." I replied:)
IDW management preferred that we market the DONALD AND MICKEY issues as one-shots with titles—rather than numbers—on the cover; but they're still an ongoing series (and they do have their numbering on the inside front covers).
Also, there's no real price change; the issues have always been priced at $5.99 in listings and catalogs, but our early image of the #1 *cover* had $3.99 on it as a misprint.
It's still called "Donald and Mickey No.1" in the indicia, so that's what I'm calling it in my notes. I sort of assume Inducks will do the same (as DMI 1 maybe?)
I'm using this thread instead of making a new one (maybe the title can be changed to something more general as the first post was deleted)
The June catalog had a 3rd "retailer incentive" cover variant listed for Doand and Mickey #1. But I still haven't seen the cover for this one, and the date on Previews isn't updated. Also only two cover variants are listed inside the first issue. Does anyone know if the 3rd variant actually was released? Looking at the September Previews listings it doesn't look like the second issue will have a 3rd variant, so I'm guessing the first on didn't end up having one either.
