If the series gets that far, we’re going to have quite the dilemma with “Somewhere in Nowhere”, for which there are two different versions, as well as all of the Jippes stories that were created with lost or unfinished Barks story ideas.
I don't think “Somewhere in Nowhere” will be included in the Barks Library, it wasn't even included in the more deluxe European Carl Barks Collection. These are the late Barks works he wrote but did not draw I am expecting in this American Barks Library:
King Scrooge the First Pawns of the Loup Garou Officer for a Day A Day in a Duck's Life the 24 Junior Woodchucks stories Hang Gliders Be Hanged! Go Slowly, Sands of Time Horsing Around with History
I have the Capri version in the German book "Carl Barks - Der Vater der Ducks 1". Btw, this is the only Disney comic ever with three different versions, right?
Some are more direct remakes than others, with sometimes Donald replaced by Joe Carioca by the Brazilian publisher, but they all can be considered as remakes.
No stories with more than two remakes are known in Inducks, though.
Of course! You cannot make this very specific search on the (advanced) search page on inducks.org, but you can download all the data (subject to the Inducks license), import it into some database and query the database for this.
This though requistes some database language knowledge (as SQL), but then, can you query the database about anything this way, also if it would not fit in the format of the advanced search page, so I encourage you to do if you plan to do serious data analysis on the Inducks data.
Pim Thank you! I have been learning Tableau for a while for my own amusement, I have heard SQL is somewhat similar so I might dabble in that next. Also, have you done any other data analysis on the Inducks data? If so, have you found anything interesting?

There is something strange going on with the story the Fraidy Falcon. On page 53 it looks like somebody else inkted the page instead of Carl Barks. Especially on the panel on the bottom at the right the beaks and eyes seem very sloppy. If i compare this with a dutch release of the story (from De beste verhalen van Donald duck deel 20), that one seems more Barksian. Its definitey by somebody else. The beaks at the bottom right from the dutch release are totally different (better). Anybody knows what's going on?
He has the same odd look in its first publication, WDC 240, but the clean up in CBL makes it more noticeable.
So that means the dutch version was re-inked then. Doesn't suprise me, since they did that alot, especially on the earlier stories, right?
I don't think so. They sometimes had to "re-ink" a story if the original roto-scoped pages were lost. They apparently blew up a source (i.e. old publication in a comic magazine) and traced it. Best known example is "Too many pets" (link Inducks, link series sam).

Yes. I have the original US issue, as well as the Dutch Weekblad and Beste Verhalen issues. ALL those are the same Barks original. The page in The Current US Carl Barks Library was re-inked. And it is a TERRIBLE JOB of inking. I seem to remember that this isn't the only re-inked page in the current US Carl Barks Library. I've waited 60+ years to have all the Carl Barks Duck stories in a hardbound colour series, and it is NOT whole. So it doesn't serve its purpose.
