No, sorry to disagree. If Disney doesn't allow them to print such notes, they cannot print them. As easy as that.
Travel back in time and tell that to the great Bruce Hamilton and the great Russ Cochran in 1999. It really isn't as simple as what you wrote.
Anyway, on one hand I absolutely get that Fantagrpahics hands are tied, but on the other hand if nobody ever did anything against Disney's wishes then a lot of great things would not exist.

Gladstone wuld never have printed "War of the Vendigo" back in 1999 if they hadn't already lost the Disney license and were closing down. And you know it. Come on.
I plan to write/mail a polite letter to Disney in care of Fantagraphics- maybe Fanta can forward it along to the department in charge of approving content. I don’t know if it’ll do any good, but at least I’ll try. I invite other BarksDuck fans to do the same. This has been the third volume in a row with censorship - despite including the warning.
I'm going to be generous and assume that the books were all intended to be uncensored, but while Fanta were putting them together, they received orders from Disney to censor this and that story before sending them off to print, and that nobody remembered that this suddenly made the warning at the start of the book no longer accurate.
I see the latest box set is out at certain places. Don't suppose anyone's got it already and can confirm/deny that anythings been cut or edited since the individual volumes were released?

Yep. That must be it.
And since 99% of Barks' work will be reproduced in this series I don't think that writing a letter to Disney is gonna help. I think 99% of people that buy these books don't even notice the censorship. I wouldn't have if it wasn't for this forum.
What does hurt me though is that they printed Daan Jippes' re-drawn version of "Race To The South Seas" instead of the re-found version by Barks. In this forum somebody confirmed that the orig. artwork arrived too late and that the notes in the back of the Fantagraphics volume is incorrect. This has not been admitted by F. in another volume as far as I know.
Anyway, since it was demanded from Amazon Europe that they do not import books all the way from the USA (something with climate change) you can't buy 'm anymore in the EU from Amazon. I hope that Bol.com will continue to sell them but I see from the long delivery times that they import it from the US and that they don't keep the books in stock anymore, like they used too. I hope that I can complete my collection.

This is what happened with IDW Disney's Christmas Classic book. It was supposed to feature every Christmas strip. Then Disney blocked the reprinting of the strips with the Song of the South cast, but the IDW crew forgot to remove that story from the book summary
As far as I know at the moment we have the following censored content: 1 eight-page story; 1 one-page story; 1 cover; 1 page was deleted from a ten-page story;
Do you have the Inducks links to the eight-page and one-page stories?
I've put together a list of censorship in Carl Barks Library, that I've gathered through this forum, maybe we can keep it going like this? Am I missing anything?

I received the new box set with volumes 22 and 24. Both are second printings dated July 2022. It seems they are the same as the first printings, everything seems to be there.
Should something specifically in the texts and drawings be checked? For example, the sorcerer from "The Money Champ" and the alien people from "Island in the Sky" came to my mind, I checked them to be graphically unchanged. Also, "War Paint" with characters disguised as Native Americans seems unchanged.

Good news! I’m waiting to receive my boxset next week.
Glad to know nothing was cut but also happy I didn't take the chance and just got the individual volumes. Not only was I finally able to catch up to the releases but I didn't wanna take the chance of trying to track down a first printing again like last time. I'll miss the boxes but I already had a few individual volumes from boxes that were oop at the time so it's not even like I had a complete set with the boxes.
