So I spotted this in the latest comic issue. AFAIK this is the only time I've ever seen a charecter wearing a seat belt. Or is it? Seen anything similar?

Plus, rumble seats had no seat belts. Nor could they possibly have them. Am I wrong? I'd assume that there's no way a rumble seat could even approach current standards of safe occupancy. If people want to find a reason to accuse Donald of negligent parenting....
The last American cars with rumble seats were produced in the late 1930's! So 313 was already twenty years old by the time Barks was writing the comics.

Barks wrote his first comic book story in early 1943, so his car (based on a 1935 design) would have only been 8 years old when he started writing DD comic book stories. It would have to have been a 1923 model to have been 20 years old.

Yup, he started drawing 313 when it wasn't that out of date. I just meant that he continued using 313 in the stories he wrote through the 50's, the classics of my childhood , when it would have been much more out of date.
