He's actually saying the Duck universe (not DuckTales per se) is Disney's greatest IP, and few on this forum would disagree with him, I daresay. Still, it irks me no end that someone who claims to be such a huge fan of the comics could get the spelling of Duckburg wrong!

I noticed that, too. And I certainly agree that the Duckverse is Disney's greatest creation!

He does reference the proposed distinction between Cartoon-Donald and Comics-Donald, though. I subscribe to the theory that they are different characters.

I don't, but I suppose his referencing it does prove that he's sufficiently familiar with the comics.
Would I consider the "Duckiverse" Disney's greatest creation? Maybe not. But it certainly is one of their most popular ones. Disney is such a large company with so many IP's that it's hard to say which is the greatest.

This is probably true in Europe, but is it also true among US audiences? My impression is that movie-based IPs (Frozen, Tangled, Disney Princesses), Disney-Pixar (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc), Disney Junior shows and to a lesser extent the classic animated characters like Cartoon-Mickey, Cartoon-Donald and Winnie-the-Pooh constitute the bulk of what comes to most Americans' minds when it comes to Disney. Actually, the company takes pains to keep Mickey in the public eye and use him as a mascot, otherwise I suspect even his popularity would whither away in the face of newer IPs. The Duckverse (which to me means the comics universe with Scrooge, Woodchucks-based HD&L, Beagle Boys, Magica, etc.) had a brief moment of popularity back in the late 80's and early 90's when the original DuckTales first came out and was current, but I'm not sure it could be considered very popular today among general American Disney fans. That might change with DuckTales '17, but so far the show hasn't made as big an impact as the original did in its day (in keeping with the natural history of reboots).
