I remember reading a particular version of Glittering Goldie's story that expanded on the classic story. It took the form of a flashback, showing an extended version of the story. I don't remember much of it, but I remember that it added a great amount of detail and I think (emphasis on think) that it featured a bandit of some sort. It extended the period where Goldie was forced to work for Scrooge, and I remember it having a fourth-wall gag showing a scene that Scrooge wasn't part of and a text box casually handwaving that away (since it was Scrooge's flashback).
I have no idea what story this was, but I remember enjoying it.
I agree that it sounds like "The Prisoner of White Agony Creek". One problem I have with this story is that it was told as in Scrooge's flashback, but we saw the whole thing from Goldie's perspective, as if Scrooge knew what she thought at that moment.
