Some day I'd love to see a Midthun volume which could be largely Christmas stories, since there are all those stories written for the Norwegian Christmas specials. I would love to see Yule on Wheels in English. And in the meantime, I'm hoping that Picsou will publish it this December, so I can at least get a copy in French!
To be honest, I never understood why some people liked Vicar so much. Sure his drawing style looks decent, but can you name a single Vicar comic that is worth re-reading? A complete Vicar collection would be over 10 thousand pages, that's over 50 books filled with mediocre stuff.
Yes, please no Vicar collection and also no Murry collection while there are still many more talented artists not fully served. In my opinion, it s Daan Jippes, Romano Scarpa, Casty, Manuel Gonzales, Taliaferro, the rest of Gottfredson.
Problem is, after Barks, Gottfredson and Rosa, people often don't agree on who the next artist in line should be. Scarpa is great, but he has produced SO MUCH STUFF over the years, not all of it very interesting or worthwhile. And I have to admit I don't see complete libraries happening in English for any of these artists.
When it comes to the rest of Gottfredson, I honestly don't think I'm interested in owning 20 years of Mickey gag strips in collected book form. What *might* be interesting could be to collect the gag strips until 1963 when Bill Walsh stopped writing them.
Swedish Egmont has gotten very ambitious lately and are going to start publishing a nine volume Branca library next month. I’ve always loved his art so I’m really looking forward to it.
I want an art book of Branca's covers. And one of Jippes' covers, and one of Cavazzano's covers, and one of Mau Heymans' covers... plus one smaller-sized book containing all of those Rota portraits from the back cover of Zio Paperone. Facing pages, the ink-only and a colored version. Then we fans can fight over whether they chose the best colored version!

That's really interesting news. Is it possible to order these to a foreign country in Europe? Also, does anybody know how many pages these books have?
With a close collaboration with Egmont's archives in Denmark, we have also managed to produce a lot of material that has never before been published anywhere.
It seems they also include stories never published before? I wonder what are these...

I just received the first book today, which is actually volume 4, collecting stories from 1984-85. It’s 280 pages and all stories in this volume has been published before, although one story has a never before seen extra page. The next book, volume 3 is released in december. (The reason for the odd release schedule is that some older stories needed extra work.)
One of the main online bookstores in Sweden is Bokus (link to book series). Here’s their page on international shipping (in english). Currenty they can only deliver within the EU.

Uhh, can I just ask... who wrote that "close collaboration" comment originally? The quote is not credited, and I can't find it anywhere else in the thread.

It's been auto-translated from the official Kalle Anka website (you can check the article), so the translation might not be very accurate, but still... I was just looking for more info on this book series so I stumbled upon it. Actually, fredj provided with all the info I wanted to know, so thanks a lot! Now I'm wandering if I should order it and start learning Swedish, or wait for Disney Masters book which I'll buy anyway.

Ahhh, okay! Thanks. When you post a quote, it's always a good thing to include a link to the source, so we can know where the information is coming from.
Anyway, here's the original Swedish text:
Med ett tätt samarbete med Egmonts arkiv i Danmark har vi även lyckats få fram mycket material som aldrig tidigare har publicerats någonstans.
Btw, the auto-translation, "we have also managed to produce a lot of material that has never before been published anywhere" is a bit inaccurate. What the text is actually saying is something like, "we have also managed to dig up a lot of material that has never before been published anywhere".

Thanks for the correction. I ordered the first book of Branca from Bokus store. I can't miss on this one, as he's one of my favorite Egmont artists along with Marco Rota.

I hope you like it, personally I'm very pleased with the book. A heads up though, all the online stores have mixed up the two covers so the first book is actually the one called "McMallards skatt". A minor mistake now, but it can become confusing when the next volume is released.
This Branca series is pretty unexpected, but seems interesting. This is the first ever series of books/albums dedicated to Branca anywhere on the planet ever, right? With this, Daniel Branca now joins the following Disney comic creators that had creator specific series, counting the unfinished ones, such as the German "Neue Abenteuer der Ducks" in Van Horn's case : Carl Barks, Floyd Gottfredson, Daan Jippes, Don Rosa, Romano Scarpa, William Van Horn, Al Taliaferro. (Any others?)

One series that I'd like to see collected in the original English is History According to Goofy. These were 39 full-length (44 p.) stories written for the Studio system by Western regulars Carl Fallberg, Cal Howard, Carson Van Osten, Greg Crosby, and Tom Yakutis, and illustrated by members of Jaime Diaz studio. Unlike other studio stories, these are decidely goofy, taking a liberal approach to panel sizes, real history, and any kind of logic really. Pretty much all of the major countries have had some stories published, however the only complete collections have been published in Germany (Goofy - Eine komische Historie, 2006-10) and in Brazil (Pateta faz História (softcover), 2011 and Pateta faz História (hardcover), 2017-18). Both clocked in at about 1840 pages. That's probably more than the American market could handle, but we've seen more obscure collections given a try in the past few years.
