Hey everyone!
So, after a problem with an order, I was searching for a Donald Duck collection and came across this while I was searching:
Surprisingly, there's not too much clear info on the book's actual contents. Even the cover isn't totally clear - I've found a version with several other characters (Which I assume to be either the back, a second volume or a faked image), but there's a version of the cover that's extremely similar, but with a few changes (Hagar the Horrible is in the same place, but the panel is different, Danger Mouse is in place of what looks like a character from the classic Beano or Dandy, Bugs Bunny is in place of Superman and Paddington is in the place of Tintin):
So, has anyone seen or read this before? The main reason I'm asking is because, as far as I can tell, none of the big-named authors for Mickey or Donald seem to be involved, despite them being front and centre on both covers.
On top of that, I checked the book out on ComicVine - the information seems incomplete, which could explain it, but from what we have now, none of the names ring a bell for me as having been involved with Donald or Mickey (Though they might for some of the more experienced members here):
Adrienne Roy
Andrew Helfer
Brant Parker
Charles M. Schultz
Derib
Francisco Ibáñez Talavera
Jim Aparo
Jim Davis
Job (Jacques Onfray de Bréville) [Interestingly enough, this is this person's only listed work on ComicVine]
John Byrne
John Costanza
Johnny Hart
Lee Hooper
Len Wein
Liam Sharp
Mark Evanier
Quino (Joaquín Salvador Lavado)
Robert Kanigher
Terry Austin
Tom Ziuko
Are any of these names known to have been associated with Mickey or Donald in comics? I don't recognize the name as Donald goes, though I'm not really familiar with Mickey's major artists.
I did a skim of everybody on ComicVine - the only one that has any core Disney stuff as their main feature is Lee Hooper, credited for appearances on Topolino, Micky Maus and Walt Disney Comics Digest - though he's only credited as having done inking for the Cartoon Aid book.
From what I can gather from most sources, it seems to be a collection; no new comics made for it.
I dunno, just thought I'd see if anyone knew what the situation was with this one - the information I can find on it is fairly scattered!
