I was browsing the INDUCKS (what's so weird about doing it at 3 am, uh?) and I just noticed that author Lars Jensen used the JW Calvin 3 times and once together with Gyro Gearloose. Well, maybe it's just a mute character in the background, but I find that Calvin looks very similar to Gyro and, even if in the original 1970 story there is no explicit connection between the two, I am curious to know if this story sheds some light on it. It would be very helpful if anyone had access to it.
I checked the original W JW 7-03 (in English) and I checked D 2021-170 (in Dutch translation). In neither of them there is any reference of him being related to Gyro. Here are scans of the original story.

Yes, I knew the original story, I was just inquiring about the Jensen one since both characters appear in it.
Today came out Topolino #3555, story IP-3555-1/2 "Il Corsaro"(The Corsair) by Stabile&Ferracina
With, basically, the origin of Malcom McDuck as seaman.
We get to see both his, sadly unnamed, parents AND a Flintheart of the time(Cuoridifiamma Famedoro, I don't know if he was an existing character)
Very exciting stuff! I can't wait to read it! Do you have access to scans of these relatives?
Images of Malcolm's parents will mean that we should move the Flintlock-Inventor on the tree. By the way, (and sorry if this has been discussed before) why is he currently placed as Malcolm's father? Don Rosa lists Malcolm's birth around 1530. According to Wikipedia, the flintlock was "probably invented shortly before 1517 and was inarguably in use by 1547". I suggest we use the early date, 1517. Let's say the Flintlock-Inventor was born around 60 years earlier, so around 1457. Thus, I propose that Sir Simon McDuck (born 1437) is the father of the Flintlock-Inventor (born ca 1457). This would mean that there is room for either one or two generations in between the Flintlock-Inventor and Malcolm.

Yes, you are right. The flintlock inventor can best be moved to one older generation and become Simon's son, so Malcolm's father can become flintlock inventor's son. The unnamed ancestor from D 92191 can easily be moved somewhere else on the tree, as we have no indication when he should have lived.
On a broader note, I think it's also worth asking about broader timeline questions. As discussed previously, comics have an inherent 'cartooniness' to them; that meaning that some unrealistic or incorrect details are simply accepted as being how things go.
There are two main issues in this context: The first is the coexistence of 'humans' and dinosaurs. The second is the coexistence of certain species of dinosaurs.
For the first, there are different approaches we could take; the obvious solutions are that either dinosaurs existed later than their currently understood points of extinction, or that 'humans' existed earlier than their known point of origin. The problem in this context, however, is that it leads to a slippery slope - the more we accept exceptions, the less the 'real' evidence holds weight. The second is an extension of the first - we know that certain dinosaurs existed during certain periods. This is almost always ignored in comics, where the same few dinosaurs show up in 'prehistoric' stories.
Now, this wouldn't be a major issue - except for the fact that, because of the second issue, many creatures appear outside of their native periods. I won't go ham and try to include every dinosaur or anything - just the relevant ones - but the issue is important to acknowledge.
I suppose the main question I'm asking is, should I be trying to answer this conundrum? Or should I just acknowledge it as a present issue and press on with 'real' evidence regardless?
EDIT: Apologies, forgot to bring up: If anyone has any idea on where these three come from, please let me know! I've contacted the original poster but with no luck. All three are relevant, but the one on the left is extremely important - I can't include any without sources, but the one on the left in particular is a pretty important piece.
One other final note - I'd like to clarify for safety that the links may feel a little more tenuous than the tree proper. I'll explain any such cases when relevant, of course
EDIT 2: Trying to contain it all to one post - more potential leads. D 2016-073 I TL 3031-4
Sorry for not responding! I haven't visited the site for a while, but I have a source for the right one: inducks.org/story.php?c=I+TL+2900-4 The left one was already provided, but I can't remember where the middle one came from

LP! It's a pleasure to see your name again in this thread, which took some odd turns lately... However, here there are scans for Malcolm's parents and Cuordifiamma (Flameheart?).

Thanks for the scans. Is Cuordifiamma actually said to be an ancestor of Flintheart in the story? Or is it something that we can assume?

It’s cool, I like contributing. It is not said as it is not said that Malcolm is an ancestor of Scrooge. The story takes place in the 16th century and there are no references to the present. However, as somebody wrote earlier, the surname is “Famedoro”, which is Glomgold in Italian.

Thank you! Yes, I didn't know how to react when Daffy Duck was added to the tree. I am impressed with the research surrounding his genealogy though! Thanks for the scans!
Regarding whether this new Glomgold should be included or not: A while back there was the story L'esilio dei Van Coot, which featured Cornelius Coot's parents. However, this story also introduced two new Rockerducks. Their situation is similar to that of this new Glomgold - their surname is the same, yet no confirmation of genealogical relation is made. In the past, we have excluded McDucks who are not explicitly said to be related to Scrooge (like Richman McDuck, for example), and it seems we made the same decision with these new Rockerducks. If we're going for consistency, this Glomgold should be excluded as well.

Well, that was actually different. Those guys were not called Rockerduck but “de Roquerduc”. It sure is similar, but not the same. And we also have proper Rockerducks at that time, so I really don’t know what the deal is there.
