WOW! Talk about the episdoe that got me by suprised, far from my favorite episode story-wise but as far as comedy and absurd humor goes this very well maybe my favorite episode so far.
The plot was wacky and insnane in all the best ways and was geting more and more silly.
Scrooge losing his mind over 87 cents is very in character and a there was a lot of elements from the comics I missed in this show like Scrooge swiming in money for pleasure, talking about his coins as if they where his childreen or HD&L being order to count all the coins in the bin felt like something from the comics.
I like we get Gizmoduck but we never seen Fenton.
Donalds get's few cameos but they where all funny.
Glomgold is still crazy but I like him in this one and at least he shown some inteligance and manipulation (The way he dress for Scrooges funeral made me laugh like crazy... his devil costume was great as well)
Not much to comoplain :
- Scrooge talking about his conspiracy theory went tad to long. - I'm still think Many the manhorse as scientist is a joke that went to long but I didn't mind him here. - I HATE that one of the nephews calls Donald by his first name at one point. - Scrooge licking Glomogld glasses... Not a fan of that joke.
But that's alll I can think.
Very fun episode if you don't mind stories that go 100% bonkers.
P.S. They refrence Magica... I still stick to my theory that Owleson is her in disguise.

You have no idea how hard I laughed when I realized the episode was taking on "gold fever" from The Treasure of the Golden Suns. Oh Rassilon that was hilarious. And David Tennant gets to do more things than he's usually allowed to do, which I like.

Is "87 cents" a reference to DuckTales '87?
Donald getting zapped by a forcefield while Gyro looks on seems to be a callback to the scene in the DuckTales '87 intro where it happens to Scrooge (was that from an actual episode?).
The time stopper-related jokes reminded me of Rosa's "On Stolen Time" ... I'm sure that was at least partly an inspiration for this episode.
Yes, the overly dramatic, money-obsessed Scrooge in this episode was very Comics-Scrooge-ish (or at least Barks/Rosa-Scrooge-ish). The nephews counting coins was reminiscent of the comics as well.
I still dislike Manny and could have done without him, but thankfully he appears sparingly in the show overall.
I don't get the joke about Scrooge licking Glomgold's glasses ... what am I missing?
Yes, a zany episode overall ... but enjoyable!
Not too excited about tomorrow's Della episode ... the Della-on-the-moon storylines don't appeal to me much.
Hum! Didn't acure to me... but now you mention it, feels like it.

Yes, the clip was from episode "Armstrong".

I belive it was an refrence to the fact that Scrooge mention that "Chester the Imp" licked everything in the money bin and Glomgold mentioned that he in fact licked Scooges things among his bragging... so it was Scrooge's childish way to get payback... Not a fan of jokes involving saliva myself, but maybe that's what "Kids these days" are into (Seeing how much jokes involved licking in the past)
However the Time-stoper is refrence to DuckTales '87 episode "Time Teaser" (Glomgold even uses the name) where Gyro invented such clock and as far I remember the design is the same.
The episode was BEFORE Rosa comic but had very similiar plot (Gyro invents a time stoping clock, the Beagle Boys steal it to rob the money bin) I do recall over decade ago at one point someone broth it up to Rosa's at a Disney mailing list and he was supprised to learn that was such episode and reply that he hope his comic dosen't felt like a ripoff now.
To be fair DuckTales'87 time-stoper story and Rosa's where diffrent enough to enjoy them in their own ways without having any DeJa vu's.
However the Time-stoper is refrence to DuckTales '87 episode "Time Teaser" (Glomgold even uses the name) where Gyro invented such clock and as far I remember the design is the same.
Okay, haven't seen that episode (or the Armstrong one), so the reference was lost on me. The number of episodes of DuckTales '87 that I've seen remains limited.
If you ever going to give the old show a chance and check-out few episode, "Time Teaser" is among the good ones. It even includes apperance by Peg-leg-Pete.
P.S. Fot the record, in that episode the clock didn't frezze time as much make it super slow, so while Scrooge was standing rock-solid for the Beagles from his point of view the money was vanishing from the bin very fest etc.

There's usually at least one line per episode that makes me laugh out loud although it really shouldn't; for "The 87 Cent Solution!", it was "No, Mr. McDee! Not on your birthday!".
I too wish Donald had had a larger role here, but I guess excluding him was the price to be paid for the payoff of the joke about the rest of the family not telling him Scrooge really wasn't dead.
I just thought of something, though. Glomgold knows that Scrooge doesn't really have Gold Fever. What then did he think Scrooge had died of? Shouldn't that have tipped him off that the whole funeral was a set-up? (And don't tell me he was just too stupid for that to occur to him ... although deranged, the whole Time-Teaser plot took planning, foresight and cunning, not the work of an easily-fooled mind)

I think he assumes that Scrooge died of sheer shock from having been so thoroughly beat by Glomgold. That may be why, despite Owlson's correction that gold fever is what did Scrooge in, he keeps acting like he's the cause of death.
HUM! Well here's another plesant suprise. I asume this episode will be a gag driven-filler (with one one plot-line about Donald being annoyed by costant adventure and other one about Della annoying Lt. Penumbra) but then we get a pretty dramatic twist in last few minutes. Which I like a lot! I just hope this dosen't mean Donald will be gone for the rest of the season, or at least will get an episode or two to show showing what he's doing. Still so far It was a plesteant suprise how much Donald we got this season (7 episodes out of 10 so far) and his subplot in this episode was a nice use of the character in his slpasticky used.
The alien general being evil - CALLED IT!
While I don't think the design of the two main aliens arent that interesting, the rest of their popullation has quite nice desings. I found the way alien-lady say "yo-yo" amusing.
Some jokes where good - I like when Scrooge and Louie leave the dimention and Scrooge is giving him a long moral speach, his line about cruse being non-refundable was funny as well. Donald got some nice over-the-topp reaction.
Della : "I will take my kids to conquer Mt Neverest and we find the tomb of Toth-Rah" - Awww.... Why od I find this line sad for some reason?
Storkules apperance was ok but didn't made anything that funny (I got bigger laugh from Zeus)
Is Della's character diffrent in this episode? Maybe it's the fact she is finally going back to to earth so she has all the reasony to be cheery but she spends the episode being very happy-go-lucky, overlly optymistic and oblivious to obvious insults. Not exactly what I would call her in "Last Christams" and "Wathever Happened to Della Duck?!"
Fun episode that makes me wonder "WHAT NEXT!?" but not my favorite of the season.

Know as Maciej Kur, Mr. M., Maik, Maiki, Pan, Pan Miluś and many other names.
Considering the heartfelt talk she has with Penumbra when everyone's preparing to go to Earth, I get the feeling that she knew perfectly well how Penny felt about her all along, but was trying to win her over and pretending not to notice the slights as part of this. Did no one else get that impression?
A clip for "Nothing can't stop Della Duck" is here... DON'T WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN "THE GOLDEN SPEAR". It's a seriously gigantic SPOILER! {Spoiler}

Well, Rosa's dire vision of the Rending of the Very Fabric of the Universe has been realized ... though in a universe he doesn't particularly care for.

I don't know ... if we, the audience, have to make excuses for an inconsistency in the writing, I'd call it a plot hole.
