#14. Lil Bulb — both there and there he is a comedic character. Except in the remake he gets creepy at times. But that makes sense, because he's Dr. Gearloose's invention.
#15 Manny — For most of the show, it was just a comedic character. I wish he'd stayed that way. It makes even less sense that he turned out to be Goliath than Webby's true nature. The only thing he has in common with the gargoyle leader is his name and the fact that they're both made of stone. They don't even look like each other. I'm sure the writers just wanted to insert some reference to Greg Weisman's creation.
#16 Gandra Dee — I've long thought this woman reminded me of someone. I only realized who it was today: Morgana Macawber. Both started out as villains, but have reformed. Both were not evil to begin with, they just needed the money. Gandra, to fund her research; Morgana, to... to pay for her university tuition, apparently. That last part isn't very clear. In both cases, however, we never saw the specific moment when the women crossed over to the heroes' side. In Gandra's case, I mean the moment when she decided to leave FOWL and conspired with Fenton. Gandra's character is better written than Morgana's. Morgana is a little too cute (though I still like her). And Gandra has cynicism and a speck of indifference.
If you compare it to the original Gandra, I think that in terms of character depth and the elaboration of the relationship with Fenton, the new Gandra wins. But that doesn't mean the original one is bad. They have different roles. If the original Fenton was Donald's replacement, then Gandra was his Daisy Duck. If you compare the two, Gandra looks preferable. At that time Don Rosa was already in full swing, and we know what his Daisy Duck was like. Gandra, on the other hand, never complained about Fenton's financial situation or looked at other men. She's appeared in 6 episodes and only two of them can be faulted. And there are extenuating circumstances. When Fenton started showering her with gifts beyond measure, Gandra was grateful at first. But you can't reduce love to that. Gandra couldn't formulate a thought, and Fenton wouldn't let her speak. So she freaked out. In the second case, her reaction was perhaps overdone, but Fenton had set her up a bit for an acting career. But she nursed him back to health. And one day she showed a talent for robotics. It's just that show 87 wasn't tasked with developing her. So I like both versions of Gandra. It's just that the image of the new one is a little deeper. And I don't care about their looks at all.
