Your arguments for how the series are different are superficial. Dipper and Mabel live with Grunkle Stan for the duration of the series; that's what matters when it comes to the storyline and setup. And the old DuckTales didn't make the supernatural elements nearly as big a part of the entire series as the new DuckTales did.

Not really gonna get into a big and major argument for how different DuckTales 2017 is from Gravity Falls here but still, characterizations are still not the same as that show (like Scrooge isn't a greedy con man like Stan (he still makes money fair an square), the nephews and Webby aren't Dipper and Mabel 2.0, heck I don't even think Donald, Della (who aside from being a long lost relative, bares little similarity with Ford personality wise for reasons obvious when looking at both shows), or Beakley remotely correlate with any GF characters personality wise) so that's not super superficial as an argument.

And you still didn't answer the part where I asked if Star vs the Forces of Evil, Big Hero 6 The Series, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, Amphibia, and The Owl House are also be Gravity Falls clones too with their overarching stories and all especially since the latter three shows were made by Gravity Falls alumni Chris Sonnenberg, Matt Braly, and Dana Terrace? Could apply the same to other overarching story shows from other studios like Avatar The Last Airbender, Adventure Time (could argue Gravity Falls itself may have been inspired by that show's success), Steven Universe, Welcome to the Wayne, Regular Show, and Legend of Korra? Same even applies to other cartoon reboots that went in a darker overarching story direction like Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, She Ra Princesses of Power 2018, Cameron Sandiego 2019, MLP Friendship is Magic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012, and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Sure, I can answer that. No, I don't think any of those other shows deserve to be called Gravity Falls riffs the way DuckTales 2017 does.

Given y'all aren't a fan of how Frank Angones and Matt Youngberg handled things, which person working in modern cartoons do you think would do a better job running the show? I doubt it'd be any different with the other Disney TVA modern alumni like Alex Hirsch, Matt Braly, Dana Terrace (she was actually a director on DT 17 in season 1), Houghton Brothers, Craig McCraken (Angones actually worked with him on Wander Over Yonder and Kid Cosmic), and Daron Nefcy especially given their shows either share the same tone as DuckTales 2017 or (in the case of Matt B, Dana, Houghton Brothers, and Craig) are good friends with Frank and Matt Y and speak highly of the show to the point where it probably would've not been so different from what Frank and Matt Y did. Kinda curious which person in animation out there would pull off a great DuckTales series.

Yes, but if it was about the classic shorts, because I think that kind of joke would be more suitable for that, than in the series. Especially if they were Mickey Mouse Cartoons by Paul Rudish. It's just a shame that Rudish ended it last month. But I agree that gag would be extremely funny. XD

Our upcoming DuckTales reboot will feature all the ingredients people loved from that series, including: large doses of supernatural elements, a mystery building up over the course of two seasons, kid protagonists who move to a new home and experience the adventure of a lifetime, the eccentric uncle with a colorful and partly shrouded past, estranged relationships between some of the adults which the kids gradually unravel..."

I wouldn't mind some similarities in this vein if there weren't so many and they weren't so blatantly obvious.

Gravity Falls had its faults, especially at the end, but I guess Alex Hirsch just wanted to get it over with as soon as possible. But I agree that Gravity Falls was a great series and definitely the best 2010s Disney series. I also agree about Ducktales that it was bad that it ended up as a Gravity Falls rip-off, only with ducks. Although it was more like Venture Bros. and on Rick and Morty. Overall, the Ducktales reboot was not its own, although it had good ideas, but poor execution. Well, I don't know how to tell you, if you get a chance to watch it, watch the other episodes, but I don't think Scrooge made a special appearance. Although he was the main character and everything revolved around him, he is more of a supporting character than the children, although he appeared the most. It is also incomprehensible to me, how Scrooge McDuck in the Ducktales reboot had characterizations similar to Scrooge in The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa, and he absolutely did not suffer for his mistakes like in the comics, but everyone is on their own. I understand that they wanted to take from Don Rosa, but they only took the worst from him, especially as far as Donald Duck is concerned. Either they didn't understand Don Rosa the best or probably they didn't even read his comics properly, but only took them superficially. Sorry about this, these are just my opinions.
