Oh boy, am I excited about this. I have been working on this. "This", to be exact, is an interactive version of a universal Duck Family Tree (sort of a more elaborate version of the one I'd presented a while ago as an image file). It's too big for the software to show all at once, so depending on what character you click on, it shows you the relevant branches and no more. From relative to relative, it's possible to navigate the entire tree. One way this tree is superior to Maurice's is that simply clicking on a character will allow you to check their origin in the chart on the left: click on "Biographical" and you have my short intro for the character, usually including the Inducks code of the story they come from. It's also very easy to edit, so it's to remain a work in progress that I will update as we find out more things.
You may notice, while snooping around, that some characters have a "Scan Needed" image. This means exactly what it says on the tin, and any scans would be welcome. Also, if you know of a character I forgot, do point it out as well.
This is really cool. I'm trying to build an updated table for the Maurice tree myself, so I hope that'll help this one. Might I ask a) where you got "James" for HDL's dad's name, and b) who Dourduck Van Duck is?

That's what the "biogaphical" section is for, you know. Let me see, and I quote…
Dourduck Van Duck: “Uncle Dourduck", a forgetful Far West prospector according to W OS 840-06. He discovered an über-precious silver mine and then forgot about it.
James Duck: (…) Due to a misunderstanding, the rumor once circulated on French forums that Don Rosa had christened the character "Jamie Hawkins Duck" ("Jamie Hawkins" being actually the name of the fan a print of the unofficial tree belonged to). As a result, James has remained the character's unofficial first name.
I have yet to see the full tree, but for the moment I ask you this: wouldn't be better if female characters are listed under their maiden names (like in Rosa's tree), rather than under their married names? I know that there is a biographical section which includes also their maiden names, but I still think that this choice can create some confusion.
Oh, that must've been quite some work. Very impressive and fun to read! (Does this program allow a way to search by name or is it manually only?)
If suggestions are welcome then:
Crabstone Gander (pseudo-canon): A character in "The Hound of Basketville", an adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes story. He's an ancestor of Gladstone, generation & relation not given, but 100 years apart.
Sholto: Donald's distant cousin in "Not Distant Enough", by looks probably part of the Goose or Gander branch.
Greta Goose: Gus's lumberjane cousin in "Grandma Duck" (W WDC 141-04). She's got a steady partner in Hjalmar.
Mother Goose: According to "The Truth About Mother Goose" of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, she's Ludwig's grandmother. There's two distinct looks for her easily found with google. Personally prefer the cover art one because it's less "Ludwig in a dress".
Gertie: An aunt of HDL who shows up in "Stuck on Christmas" of Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas. Best guess is that she's a member of the Goose branch.
Teensy Whiffle: Daisy's cousin in "Duos And Don'ts". Probably steady with Woimly Filcher.
Diamond Dick: The villain of "The Old Castle's Secret". Dick knew of the treasure of Sir Quackly because his third wife was a McDuck on her great-grandfather's side.
Dimples: A little boy that may or may not be related to Daisy. She babysat him in "Playpen Pickle" before making him Ludwig's problem.
Dickie Duck: Goldie's granddaughter (dunno if you care about this canon, but Goldie's profile mentions a child, so...)
If longterm love interests are a go, Fethry's girl Gloria and Gus's lady Cissy are absent. Brigitta, for all her controversy, also is depicted as a likely partner to Scrooge from time to time.
Don't know how you feel about headcanons, but one of mine is that Cy Sickle in "Grandma Duck" (W OS 649-03) is related to Gladstone on his father's side of the family. He's got the same hair and an unusual thing with work that works well as a luck variation (hypercompetent, usually gets laid off in a day because all the work's done already). Grandma didn't know him though, so if he'd be related it's a distant relation.
Most of these have images on TVTropes. I've got bigger files in some cases if those won't do.

I completely agree, but I didn't create the software, and it automatically lists married women under their married names. I might manually change it every time once the rest is better-polished, but for the time being I didn't bother.

Dickie, Teensy, Mother Goose and Dudly were all already planned for. Thanks about Shlto, Crabstone, Greta and Sickle. If you could post your scans? Also, Gertie alreayd is there, as a sister of Luke Goose. Check again.
Any reason you have Daisy and Donald's fathers down as half-brothers? That makes Donald and Daisy cousins, and while they've been specified as distant relations for a long time I didn't think they were, errm, that close.

That comes from Johannes A. Grote's infamous family tree, where they're even full-blooded first cousins. Between that idea, the idea of them as relations in general, and the fact that Ludwig has been shown to be Daisy's uncle in some stories and family trees, all combined with Daisy's father's resemblance to Ludwig in Daisy's Diary… well, one day, it just all clicked together into what I think is an elegant enough solution. Keep in mind that, since Otto and Ludwig are only half-brothers, Donald and Daisy would have about 1/8 (…I think?) of their genes in common — distant enough to allow marriage in most countries, including the USA. In fact, first cousins can legally marry in a lot of countries.
I think I prefer Maurice's way myself, where they're related by a bunch of "double-in-law marriages" further back but aren't what you'd call related except in the most generous sense. Ludwig I see as being an honorary uncle, or perhaps Daisy sees him as basically an in-law already.

About Ludwig: the "honorary in-law" idea could work for the stories where she calls him "uncle", but this family tree published in Picsou Magazine shows an actual unclehood:
Well that one also has Grandma as Scrooge's sister, which nobody accepts anymore...
True. Still; I like my idea, and I'll stick with it. (Also, in the process of adding Gran'daddy Daniel Duck and his descendants, who include Moby Duck. I'll post here when it's done.)
