So, are there any clues throughout the comics of what the layout of Calisota is and what places are in it? -Duckburg, obviously, is in Calisota, and maps of it show it to be shaped like Donald Duck's head -Mouseton is almost definitely in Calisota -St. Canard is across the bay from Duckburg -Spoonerville is also near Duckburg -The Dogalina Hills is featured in an installment of "Search for the Zodiac Stone" near Duckburg -In one story, Donald attempts to swim the Catalina Bay with a tangerine (I think) balanced on a piece of spaghetti on his beak -According to "Hobblin' Goblins", Grandma Duck's Farm is five miles from Duckburg -As per "DuckTales (2017)", Cape Suzette is near Duckburg, enough that they could get there in two hours -Gooseburg is mentioned as the rival of Duckburg in some stories -The Old McShiver Mansion, home of the Lonesome Ghosts, might be in Calisota, if the old Mickey cartoons count Anything else? I ask because I am planning to make a map. Thanks! -Drleevezan
In the Barks stories, Goosetown is shown as the rival of Duckburg. I've never seen any reference to a Gooseburg. Gansberg has been used by Dutch Disney writers (I've used it myself). But that means "Goose Hill", NOT Goosetown. Barks said that Donald was taking Daisy to her aunt's house in Swanville, when they rode past Great Head Park, where Senator Snoggin's head was carved into the mountain rock. So, Swanville is on the other side of the mountains from Duckburg. There are hills between Duckburg and Goosetown (where the dam was, which broke, and a flood came down where Daisy and Gladstone and Donald were picnicking). Duckburg Harbour faces Duckburg Bay. There is a Mudhen Island in Duckburg Bay. The east side of Duckburg faces Mudhen Lake, which also has a Mudhen Island in it. There are hundreds of geographic points named or shown in Barks stories, alone, and several in non-Barks stories. There is Henton, Catville, Cowtown, Hogville, Noplace, Duckville, Tuleburg, Tuleville, and there are many more. Look over Barks' 7,000 pages carefully, before you start making your map. Duckburg is in Duck County, which is near Goose Egg County, Squawbunion County, and Webfoot County is farther north. The Mad Duke of Duckburg may have once run a Duchy (Dukedom).
21 (!) years ago, working for Egmont, I wrote guides to locations in the Duck and Mouse universes that might be of some help to you.
Be forewarned that neither is absolutely complete.
Unlike Rob, I presumed that "Webfoot County" as shown in WDCS 133 is the county within which Duckburg is located—for while the Webfoot County Truant Officers' meeting takes place in the mountains behind the city, the truant officers there are still within their jurisdiction to escort HDL back to school personally. So my guides present Duckburg and Mouseton as being in Webfoot County, and by now dozens of other stories have followed them (for better or worse!).
A few typos have General Snozzie called "Snozzle," the Canvas Carnival circus (from Mickey's "Circus Roustabout") called Canas; and beyond that, a few Gottfredson locations and characters went unnamed or unmentioned because, at the time, I didn't have access to certain stories in English. (Miklos, Aygotcha and a few other later villains aren't included at all.)

Still, maybe this will be of some help...
There's a problem, because Barks also showed Duckburg being in "Duck County" in a couple of his stories. So, I chose "Duck County", based on more evidence. But, I guess we should assume that Duckburg started out either in Webfoot or Duck County, and that large county was later subdivided, and Duckburg remained in the portion which got the new name.
There is Hard Haid Moe's Misanthrope's Top, too. (and I've discovered there is a genealogy tree for him, go figure)
Is this a location in an English-language story?
The first Moe story (S 64029) references his area as Old Hog Run. Later, another S-coded story refers to the "Scrambled Woods" where he lives. The two don't have to be contradictory—Old Hog Run could be the clearing where he (and, sometimes, other hillbillies) have their cabins, while the Scrambled Woods surrounds them. Presumably, it's a grubbier, more dilapidated woodland branching off from the Black Forest...
(And here we see another limitation of my Universe Guides; they were done before I had access to S-coded stories in English, so no locations from them are included...)

No idea. If any Italian stories with Moe from the last... let's say 10 years? Have been translated, then it should have been translated.

If it hasn't been otherwise translated, Misanthrope's Top is Moe's own hill\property, with Old Hog Run being the clearing with the other hillbillies with the Scrambled Woods around them.
That said, from this week Topolino will have attached a pamphlet detailing various parts of Duckburg- I will detail once I get my hands on it. (also, pieces of a 90x90cm non-scale model of the city.)

-Duckburg, obviously, is in Calisota, and maps of it show it to be shaped like Donald Duck's head
To my knowledge, the idea that Calisota is shaped like Donald's head was only shown in a fan-made map, and I have a hard time taking this idea seriously since I find it really stupid for a moltitude of reasons. I think the following map (based on Rosa's work) makes much more sense:
It wasn't Calisota that was shown as Duck-head-shaped in that fan-art map, drakeborough, it was Duckburg. But I agree, it's a silly idea...though it might not seem that strange for French-speakers, for whom the name of the city is "Donaldville"!
There are two (different) maps of Duckburg from German publishers: a very large and detailed map in Reiseführer Entenhausen mit Stadtplan (Duckburg Tour Guide with city map) by Jürgen Wollina (2010), which has long, tour-guide-like articles on the sights of Duckburg; and a less detailed one in the more recent hardcover book Die Ducks in Entenhausen, which has a collection of comics stories focused on different locations, a set of postcards showing those locations (same pictures as are used in the DuckStars trading cards), and the map. Both of these maps show Duckburg only and don't give any hints about the rest of Calisota. Interestingly, by the way, the first map includes the Cathedral of Notre Duck and the second does not; I wonder whether this is due to official comics publishers avoiding all hint of religion. Not that anyone ever goes to church at the cathedral....
There is apparently also a map attached to the French Donaldville: Le Guide (Mickey Parade Géant Hors-Série # 8), which has the texts on Duckburg's various aspects (related to different characters) by Barbara Garufi and Blasco Pisapia which were originally published singly in Topolino plus appropriate comics stories. I haven't been able to get a copy of this yet. Orora has it, so could report on the map.
Contrary to what's depicted on this map, I'll bet Calisota is a solidly blue state (at least today, might have been different in the 1950s). How many electoral votes do you think it might have (and how many does California have in this universe)?
Both of these maps show Duckburg only and don't give any hints about the rest of Calisota.
As far as I know, the concept of a state like Calisota doesn't exist in German translations of Disney comics as many translators consider Entenhausen (German name for Duckburg and Mouseton) to be in Germany or at least in Europe. That goes back to the first German translator of Disney comics, the famous and beloved Erika Fuchs who used German geographical names in her texts all the time. (As a child I never wondered though why Donald and the nephews could ride easily and in short time by car from their German hometown to a desert where Indians lived or to swamps with wild crocodiles ).

Entenhausen could have been located in a German state, such as Bayern or Westfallen or NiederSachsen, etc. But how could Donald drive his car and a few hours later be in The American West (desert with Native Americans) Is there a ferryboat regularly crossing The Bering Straits? What kind of super jet fuel can make a car travel across most of Europe, all of European Russia and Siberia in just a few hours? And could Donald avoid getting stopped by police and getting thousands of speeding tickets?? (I guess he could just speed by the police, who couldn't catch him!). But could Donald and his nephews stand the body - crushing G-forces??? And could Donald's car keep from being torn apart from them??? It would be too impossible to believe that Donald, and, indeed, Duckburg, were located in Deutschland, or in any European land, IF one read American stories.
On the other hand, when one reads a Christmas story in Dutch Donald Duck Weekblad, and sees Sinterklaas riding his stallion atop the roofs of 17th Century "Gouden Eeuw" Dutch houses along a canal (reminiscent of particular existing Amsterdam streets), and The Ducks have driven there in Donald's car in a matter of minutes, it's hard to believe that The Ducks live in USA.
