Does anyone have any information about how and if the books from idw are continued? Especially the Donald Duck Ones?
The last volume of Silly Symphonies got published in september last year, finishing the series. So no more Silly Symphonies books.
Four volumes of Treasury of Classic Tales was planned, but the series was cancelled after volume 3 due to poor sales.
For the Donald Duck dailies and sunday page collections I haven't seen any official information about more books or if the series are cancelled. I guess there still is a chance for more books, but as none are announced yet we probably won't get any this year.
The books of Donald Duck daily strips aren’t continuing. According to the Library of American Comics Facebook group, IDW has decided that they’re through with the Disney newspaper strip collections.

That's sad news. But do you have a link to the post about this? I just browsed through everything being posted and commented on their official facbooke page from the last year, but couldn't find anyting. Theres an appreciaton group too I see, but that's a closed group.

This was actually mentioned by IDW editor Kurtis Findlay on the Disney Comics Fan Group a few months back: "...IDW has said "all done" with the Disney comic strip reprints. We at LOAC want to do more, but our hands are tied."

Thanks for the link. Sounds like the Donald Duck books didn't sell enough to be profitable. I would have been happy to support more books, even a Winnie the Pooh collection which I'm not really that interested in. The Dark Horse book discussed on the facbook post would have been much better as part of the LOAC series I think (did a quick post about that on my blog)
New by Fantagraphics coming in April 2023: Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies 1932-1935: Starring Bucky Bug and Donald Duck
"The wild adventures of the first Disney star created just for comics―and Donald Duck’s hilarious funny-page debut! 1932 saw the launch of Disney’s second-ever original comic strip, the full-color weekly Silly Symphonies, and with it came the debut of Bucky Bug, a daring, rhyming, mischievous squirt whose escapades took him from brutal birds of prey to the terrifying trenches of the Great Flyburg War! With his brave lady friend June and bumpkin pal Bo, Bucky even travels to a mixed-up Mother Goose Land… where a not-so-merry Old King Cole has mayhem on his mind! Now in this latest stand alone Disney reprint collection, readers can follow all of Bucky’s adventures and the Symphonies Sunday sagas that followed, which also includes Donald Duck’s debut as the barnyard’s spoilt brat in “The Wise Little Hen”… and further tales of golden age Silly Symphony cartoon stars: egotistical Max Hare, slow-but-sure Toby Tortoise, and that awful bandit Dirty Bill (who “never took a bath, and he never will!”)."
So it seems to be a reprint version of the first IDW Silly Symphonies book, which was published 6 years ago. Wonder why Fantagraphics decided to essentially reprint it. Also, this is marketed as a stand alone book. Does that mean that no continuation is planned?

Please let Fantagraphics begin a reprinting of the Donald Duck strip!!! Fantagraphics doesn't abandon its projects like IDW; I'd love to at least be able to get up to the introduction of Ludwig Von Drake (1960s)

*Cries in Ernie Bushmiller Nancy*
Would be great if they eventually released more Donald strips though.

It could be planned as a tie-in to the 100th anniversary of the original Walt Disney studio.

The (pre-release) cover art is now listed on Amazon:
I don't spot any volume numbering on the cover or spine, so it looks like a standalone book.
It will be 7 years between this one and the Library of American Comics (IDW) edition, and it sound like they have the same content. A bit too soon I think, it's not like Disney Princess comics where you get a completely new reader base after a few years. I guess most pepole interested in this book already have the IDW one (?)

"1932-1935" as part of the title signals to me that it's intended as a first volume of several. I mean... if not, they could just have called the book Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies Starring Bucky Bug and Donald Duck.

I don't think they were printed in extremely big runs. Vol 2 in particular is very difficult to get nowadays, the cheapest used copy on Amazon is $151.
