I wanted to see what everyone's personal head-canon is, I find this topic interesting, since there are thousands of stories, but many contradict each other. Are there a few artists who you think fit the main criteria of your head canon?
Authors that are canon to my main universe, are Barks, Rosa, Gottfredson, Taliaferro, and maybe a few others. I personally think Mickey and Goofy met Donald when they were children, but they lived separate lives as adults, maybe Mickey and Goofy became actors, after publishing their comics and adventures, with Pete and Eega Beeva, and others. I also believe Felicity Fieldmouse would also be canon, as well as most of Goofy's relatives from the comics, his Grandma, cousin Arizona, and nephew Gilbert. I think this applies to Mickey's relatives too.
Personally for other Italian comics, I think they take place in an alternate reality, such as Gideon McDuck, Dickie Duck, and Scrooge's uncles such as Midas McDuck. But I'd love to hear your theories and thoughts!
Where's this whole "Mickey Mouse is a famous actor in Duckburg" idea come from? He's a detective and consultant for the Mouseton police department. Mickey, Donald, and Goody's relationship, I read both Mickey and Donald debuting when they were teenagers respectively, so they're a few years apart. Goofy is even older than Mickey. They met when Donald was sent to live with "Uncle Amos" in Mouseton for a while, perhaps after kicking a certain uncle in the caboose. Different countries are absolutely different universes.

I didn't say Mickey was a famous actor in Duckburg, I just said my theory was he became an actor, if you look on the Disney Wiki, it lists his occupation in the cartoons as an actor. I said he became an actor, or famous, because in the the story A Little Something Special by Don Rosa, there is someone who tries to gift an autographed photo of Mickey Mouse, so he is some type of celebrity, as he signed the photo himself.
I think the idea came from Don Rosa's "The Starstruck Duck".
Donald is also an actor in the cartoons. Refer to his tax form in "The New Spirit," or, if patriotic fever isn't your flavor, "The Autograph Hound."
There a was a comic from 1984, which said Donald was hired to act in propaganda films in World War II, and I’m sure he’s been an actor in many other stories. As for Mickey, I think the Gottfredson comics were based on true events, and he became famous after they were published. There was a story by Rosa where Scrooge talks about the Mickey Mouse comics not being published anymore

In 2019 there was a thread "What is your headcanon made of?" on which I summarized my own approach. I also said, Didn't we have a thread on this? To which Baar Baar Jinx responded:
We've discussed personal headcanons on multiple threads, which in some cases happens when a discussion veers off topic (such that browsing thread titles gives no indication of it) and every now and then, someone starts a brand new thread (like this one) rather than continuing the discussion on a previous thread, leading to redundancy. Anyway, here are a few other threads that we've discussed personal headcanons in:
Newer characters you accept into Barks/Rosa canon Stories you consider canon in Barks/Rosa universe Keno Korner - A Review Series
<end quotation>
I observe, though, that I can't find the "What is your headcanon made of?" by typing that title--or any couple of words from it--into the oddly-performing search page on this forum. I only found it by typing just "headcanon" into that search in the "thread title contains" box.
Here's my summary of my own approach from that thread, pretty much what I would say today, five years later:
My personal headcanon of "stories that really happened in my mental Duckworld": most of Barks, almost all of Rosa, a couple hundred stories by other writers which appeal to me and entirely or mostly accord with this particular Barks-as-interpreted-by-Rosa world. The "present" is the mid-20th century. I accept some stories with later tech, as long as that tech is not essential to the plot and I can mentally "blip" over it. I basically follow Rosa's family tree (though Abner/Whitewater is a more distant cousin)--no Gideon, no Rumpus. Elvira and Scrooge are not siblings. Daisy is no relation to Donald. Fethry exists, and lived in Duckburg when Donald was living alone as a young man with Tabby, but he moved far away (to Italy, to be a reporter for Topolino, in my mind) around the time the boys came to live with Donald. I accept Belle Duck, since I feel Scrooge could have had a girlfriend in his riverboat days; I don't accept Brigitta. Paperetta/Dickie is Goldie's granddaughter but not Scrooge's. There are a bunch of secondary characters created by authors other than Barks or Rosa whom I do accept: Garvey Gull, Mercedes Pujol, Minima De Spell, Ludwig Von Drake, Madam Mim, Zantaf, Elvira's cousin Amanda, Greta Goose, Big Barnsmell ("Barnsie"), Brenda, Stella Curfew, etc. And the Caballeros, of course. A few episodes of DuckTales '87 have entered my headcanon; none of DuckTales '17. Chip and Dale exist in my mental Duckworld, but their speech is not understandable by the Ducks and other humans.
I enjoy many stories which will never become "real" in my mental Duckworld for one reason or another. I also enjoy some Mouse stories, but I have no headcanon whatsoever for Mouse stories, as those characters have never become "real" to me. The headcanon decision is based on whether a story fits in my personal version of the Duck family narrative, and it does not imply a negative aesthetic judgment about stories that don't make it.

I am open to read and enjoy Disney comics by any artist, but my headcanon consists of Don Rosa’s stories and the Barks stories that are directly referenced by him plus a few more. I don’t count as canon things that Rosa said outside of his stories, so some of the characters‘ birth and death dates differ in my headcanon.
HDL were born in 1942. Yes, they’re very precocious five-year-olds in 1947. They are child prodigies. But they look like children until the age of 17, allowing me to place stories as late as 1959. I know that Scrooge already looked grown-up at the age of 15, but I don’t see why every anthropomorphic duck should have to grow at the same rate. It could also be the case that they look child-like for a few more years because they drank water from the Fountain of Youth (basically a scaled-down version of Jack L. Chalker's theory that they are adults trapped in the bodies of children).
Speaking of the Fountain of Youth, Scrooge’s sip from it is the reason why he is still so sprightly in his 80s and 90s and why he seems older in earlier Barks stories than in later ones. I agree with Rosa that he died at the age of 100 in 1967. I’m undecided on whether or not he got back together with Goldie for the last seven years of his life.
I don’t like the idea of Grandma Duck being almost 100 in most stories, so I believe she was born in 1862 and became mother at the age of 18. Quackmore, Eider and Daphne were born in 1880, 1882 and 1884. I'd say Quackmore was born first to keep the age gap to Hortense as small as possible.
Donald and Della were born in 1917 because I don’t want Hortense to have given birth in her mid-forties. Hortense and Quackmore died in an accident shortly after the ending of L&T Chapter 11 (Scrooge’s refusal to reach out to Matilda in the aftermath further deepened the rift between them) and Matilda raised Donald for the remainder of his childhood. She was a bit overwhelmed by the task, leading her to occasionally resort to corporal punishment (this is my way of justifying a scene in „A Letter From Home“ that I am uncomfortable with).
Pothole died in January 1909 because I want him to become as old as possible without contradicting Rosa (L&T Chapter 11 page 5 states that Scrooge and his sisters are the last three members of the Clan McDuck).
I have a few ideas for L&T bonus chapters, as well as for a spin-off set at Castle McDuck between 1885 and 1896, that are also part of my headcanon.
One of the triplets became President of the United States instead of Bill Clinton (would be funny if it was Dewey as he is already named after a politician).
I don’t subscribe to the filter theory.

I like your head-canon, I can see the problems with some of the ages, I agree that Hortense and Quackmore are too old, and I would change the birth years then for Donald and Della. I'm not sure about Quackmore's birth year, he seems to be old enough to be an adult in 1902, but I personally prefer him to be born around 1875, so he is about the same age as Hortense.
Grandma Duck's birth year change makes sense, I also don't like how she is nearly 100 years old and still working on a farm, so it is reasonable to change the birth year for her. As for any deaths, I believe Quackmore and Hortense died some time when Donald and Della were young, like you said an accident. I'm not sure about Donald being raised by Matilda, although I can see your theory on why he could be. However, I can see him being raised by Grandma and her husband Humperdink (he likely died after 1943). Daphne and her husband probably died when Gladstone was young, although his father was seen visiting Duckburg in a recent comic, so maybe his father married Matilda, and she adopted Gladstone and the parent of Shamrock? As for Ludwig, I believe Matilda married him some time after Goostave died or they divorced.
I can see Huey, Dewey, and Louie being born in 1942, it's only two years after from 1940 which Rosa thinks is there birth year. And other McDuck's, Pothole's death makes sense, maybe Jake McDuck was born in the mid-1840s, or so, and he is still alive? I know that there has been discussions about that. I'm still trying to accept a Scrooge death date in 1967, I just don't like seeing a beloved character such as that die, I know the "present day" stories take place in the 1950s, but I don't know if I really accept if they died yet, even though Fergus and Downy died too.

Great, I love it! I would probably accept most of this in my personal head canon too, although I think Brigitta could exist, I know Barks liked the character and even drew her once before. I believe some of the older cartoons also could exist, which includes some of Donald's and Chip 'an' Dale's cartoons from the 1940s and 1950s.
I like seeing Madam Mim in the comics with Magica and her family, I also love seeing comics with Madam Mim and other villains too, I can also see some Italian characters appearing as canon, but I'm open to anybody's theories.
I don't have a personal headcanon. I'm a proponent of the Multiverse and the "What If?" series. Unfortunately, Disney seems to have a crisis of ideas in that direction. Donald Duck is Wolverine and Thor?! Minnie Mouse is Captain Marvel?! Who needs this anyway? Who asked for this?

That's the sad part of Disney comics, there is no room for creativity anymore, all it is is using their many properties, Star Wars, Marvel, Fox, just to use them for no new stories. I won't be surprised if we see more of Donald Duck as Wolverine or Thor, or another character that Disney just uses these characters for, it strips them of their personality.

Thank you, Matilda ! I was going to say the same thing. Here is a link to that previous thread for convenience's sake.
My headcanon seems similar to yours, whitewater . As I outlined in the older thread, I have multiple Duck and Mouse-centered realities in my headcanon. The "main" one for me is primarily based on Barks, Rosa, Gottfredson, and the old 1920s - 1960s Disney shorts, which I haven't seen anyone else claim as part of their headcanon so far in this thread, though I may have missed something. In my headcanon, Gottfredson's 1930s serials depict teen and young adult Mickey's adventures in the 1930s, Murry detective stories are an older Mickey in the 1950s, what Donald spent the 1930s doing is covered in several of the cartoon shorts, Barks and Rosa stories take place from the 1940s to 1950s. Just a brief summary of that "main" headcanon universe.
There is also a reality in my headcanon where a lot of the Disney animated Mouse and Duck material from the 1980s to the 2000s take place (a renaissance for the Fab Five in animation, in my opinion), with a few comics that fit in being thrown in there, too. This universe is much less complicated with less authors and conflicting stories involved, so my headcanon notes and timelines for it are more streamlined and straightforward. Also very different from the "prime" universe. Why? It's a different reality! Here, Scrooge McDuck (this being the Scrooge of the classic DuckTales) was born July 8, 1930. The "prime" Scrooge of Barks/Rosa was hatched July 22, 1867. The more modern Goofy was born sometime from 1949 to 1951. Classic Goofy was born... around 1913? Classic Donald served in the United States Army Air Forces in World War II, while the 1980s-2000s universe Donald served in the United States Navy during peacetime, probably not witnessing combat.
I have not really taken the time in the past few years to really develop headcanon timelines and genealogies like I once did, so none of my ideas are as well-developed as they were in that old thread back in 2019. But hey, I still enjoy some Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Uncle Scrooge!
Where's this whole "Mickey Mouse is a famous actor in Duckburg" idea come from? He's a detective and consultant for the Mouseton police department. Agreed regarding the age differences in the trio! In the "prime" universe of my headcanon, that is. See the above. Prime Goofy is about a year or two older than Prime Mickey, who is, in turn, about five or six years older than Prime Donald. In the more modern headcanon based on around 1980s-2000s Disney animation, however, Donald and Mickey are right around the same age while Goofy is about ten years older than both of them.
I have a few ideas for L&T bonus chapters, as well as for a spin-off set at Castle McDuck between 1885 and 1896, that are also part of my headcanon.

I'd love to hear about those spin-off Life and Times stories sometime. Sounds like a lot of fun! A triplet becomes POTUS in my headcanon, too, but I've got Huey pinned as the man for the job. Louie grows up to produce media inspired by his childhood adventures (including perhaps a television show released in 1987... giving rise to another one of my headcanon universes and making it a fictional universe within a fictional universe!), while Dewey becomes a master of space and aviation. At least in my mind...

I agree with you on the head canon, it seems some of the modern children's content (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse etc.), doesn't really fit in my canon, but it's worth mentioning that there was a more recent show Mickey Mouse from 2013, that is a more modern 1930's type of cartoon, it's kind of bizarre but I guess you could put this as canon as well.
The comic from 1984, was called From Egg to Duck, it's never been official published in English, although recently it has been unofficially translated, it is definitely worth a read, even though some of Donald's early life in the story isn't in my canon.
Also, something to note is Huey is also named after a politician named Huey Long from Louisiana, Louie Duck was the only Duck out of the three not to be named after a politician.
There is also a reality in my headcanon where a lot of the Disney animated Mouse and Duck material from the 1980s to the 2000s take place (a renaissance for the Fab Five in animation, in my opinion), with a few comics that fit in being thrown in there, too. Interesting, what made you pick these very specific dates as Scrooge’s birthdays? And is it significant that prime Scrooge "hatched" and DuckTales Scrooge "was born", as in: is there a biological difference between the anthropomorphic ducks of Universe 1 and Universe 2?
Apropos of Donald's military service... you inspired me to add some of the Disney WWII shorts to my headcanon, but not as a "real depiction" of what happened, but a sort of subjective representation of Donald's experience.
Louie grows up to produce media inspired by his childhood adventures (including perhaps a television show released in 1987... giving rise to another one of my headcanon universes and making it a fictional universe within a fictional universe!)
That’s neat!
Your multiple coexisting headcanons inspired me to „open up“ a second one where I put all the Italian stories that I like. The present day is the 1970s and 80s, and Scrooge’s origin story is the one from Storia e gloria della dinastia dei paperi, where he was born in the Yukon in the 1890s… I remember enjoying that story as a child. Maybe due to Gyro’s genius, the digital revolution happens earlier than in our universe, allowing me to add more recent stories.
