Here's a link to the recent D23 Expo DuckTales panel discussion.
Most of the discussion and the Q&A session that followed dealt with predictable topics like what the producers' and creators' earliest memories of DuckTales was, how great it was to work with each other, will we ever see Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin reboots, etc. However, what struck my interest was that the producers reaffirmed that "the comics" were and would remain a major source of inspiration for the storylines, and Barks' name was mentioned several times (sadly, Rosa's never was). There were hints that characters from the comics never seen in animation would appear, but nothing concrete, and none of the audience members pressed the issue. I would have loved to ask about characters like Fethry, Matilda, Hortense, Quackmore and Della (not expecting to get definitive answers, of course), but most of the questioners did not strike me as comics fans, necessarily; they were coming at it more as fans of the original series. One interesting tidbit: Angones mentioned an episode that features a flashback to the sixties, where Scrooge and Beakly have some kind of a history and Ludwig is Scrooge's resident scientist (he makes the same mistake that a lot of European editors make, that Gyro and Ludwig can't coexist without being redundant because they're "both scientists", and his solution is to put them in different phases in Scrooge's life). This definitely settles the debate: the series is not following the Rosa policy of being set in the fifties or being "timeless".

Yes, I noticed that as well. However, as long as Ludwig is still considered as Donald's uncle, they must keep him alive at the present time. They can't just kill Donald's uncle off-screen, I doubt Disney would allow them to do that.

In a link in Italian posted on the Papersera forum it was mentioned the possibility of seeing a cameo of paperinik, and that Angones was considering a way tomake Fethry appear in season 2.
Magica was also finally shown, apparently just as a shadow though. I'm still trying to find out if Negaduck and Quackerjack were also shown or just mentioned.
Darkwing Duck confirmed. Magica was also finally shown, apparently just as a shadow though. I'm still trying to find out if Negaduck and Quackerjack were also shown or just mentioned.
Was this from the D23 Expo? I wonder if this image of Darkwing Duck in the DuckTales '17 style was more fan-service than confirmation that the character will actually cross over into this series. Do we know the context of this image? Also, do you have a description of what Magica-in-shadow looked like? I assume you don't have an image or you'd have posted it.
No, from the San-Diego Comic Con, that's going on right now. Only image I have is that one, otherwise I'm just quoting reports, so sadly don't have more to give regarding Magica.
This image is no indication that Scrooge is a left hander. He's not writing a handwritten version of The Bible, after all. It looks as if he may only be making a small mark on the map with that pencil. It may be more important for him to use his steadiest hand to hold the calipers (compass) and keep it on the proper points, and make the easier, single dot marking with his less steady hand.
Is... is Scrooge being left hended a big deal...? (like he was ment to be right hended in the oficial continutiy) Just asking.
(I myself never paid atention to what head people use for writing and never got what diffrence it makes so It always fascinated me when people notice such detales )
While some jokes in this new clip made me laugh, I'm not fond of all the gray in the background... Also I honestly hate the fact that boys refrence Scrooge by his first name (no "Uncle" just "Scrooge") Call me old fashion but there is something about kids calling much older family members (uncles, partens, grandfathers) by their first name that rubs me the wrong way and this level of lack of respect fells of-character for the boys I know and love, especialy since I can't imagine that Scrooge would told them "Just call me Scrooge" or be Ok with this. Yhe, Bart Simpson call his dad "Homer" but that's another story

Know as Maciej Kur, Mr. M., Maik, Maiki, Pan, Pan Miluś and many other names.
- They're still unfamiliar with him, not used to seeing him as family. - Dewey is specifically trying to bait Scrooge into a sense of familiarity, hence treating him in such a disrespectful manner.

Nah, just noticed it.
Edit: I must admit I noticed it was because in many crime fictions left-handedness is the clue leading to whodunit I read too many of them
