I don't know anyone of these actors, bit I think they're great!
The only one I'm really familiar with is the new Scrooge, David Tennant, who is best known for being the Tenth Doctor in the long-running BBC science-fiction show Doctor Who. Tennant is even Scottish, though he affected an English accent for DW.
I gotta admit, I'm a bit worried since Tony Anselmo wasn't in the video. Not that he'd be recast, but if Donald wouldn't have a main role in the new series
Or, they didn't think Donald Duck singing would sound very nice. Which, admittedly, it wouldn't.
I hope this was the reason, and Tony will be in the series. But I have to admit that I LOVE to hear the quacky Donald Duck voice sing. That is music to my ears! And very funny, too!
I feel like we should have a separate thread to discuss the new voice actors.
David Tennant? Wow, I didn't think they'd get someone this young to play Scrooge. It comes as quite a shock to me too, being quite a big fan of Doctor Who. I've always maintained that Sylvester McCoy (another Dr. Who) would be a great Scrooge McDuck, but I'll gladly settle for Tennant!
Frank Angones confirmed on his tumblr page that Donald will be part of the main cast, and briefly explains why Donald's voice actor is not in the video:

Two separate people, when I told them they'd gotten a Doctor Who actor to be Scrooge, thought I meant Peter Capaldi, the current Doctor. I can see why they'd make that guess--"cranky old Scottish guy who solves mysteries and rewrites history" (to borrow a phrase) could describe the Twelfth Doctor and Scrooge both.
Sylvester McCoy would've made a wonderful Scrooge. Capaldi's voice is a tad too low in tone- he'd make for a great Fergus, or even Flintheart if they don't change him back to being South African.

Wasn't Glomgold supposed to be Scottish anyway? In Barks' original design, Glomgold already wears what seems to be a Scottish beret. I know that, in the comics, he lives in South Africa, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's not Scottish.

Glomgold stated in some Barks story, that he was of Scottish origin. Rosa expanded upon that, saying that Glomgold had grown up in Scotland and emigrated from there to South Africa with his parents. His father went there seeking better opportunities. Glomgold definitely should also have a Scots Brogue (but also should have a quacking voice -as should ALL Duck-People).

Huh… What are you talking about? Though I wish it were true, Rosa clearly says Glomgold was a boer (though he leaves the possibly of having his parents be born in Scotland open).

Sorry. My memory must be playing tricks on me. I was sure that I read in a US story that Glomgold's father moved from Scotland as an immigrant to South Africa. I thought I remembered seeing a drawing of Glomgold's parents arriving from the ship at the docks, with wee Flintheart (age 5 or 6). Now that I think about it, the artwork doesn't remind me of Rosa, but rather, of Marco Rota. I wonder if Barks ever stated that Glomgold's heritage was Scottish. In any case, if Glomgold's parents were "Boers", they would have been of Dutch, German, or French (mostly Protestants of Huganot origin), and likely would have immigrated to The Orange Free State or The Transvaal . Scottish immigrants would more likely have immigrated to The British Cape Colony. So, if Barks never revealed any ancestry of Glomgold, only that his home was in South Africa, and he had been raised there, we have no way to know if his parents were Boers or of Scottish (British) ancestry.
I choose to think that Glomgold's ancestors were Scottish and they came from Scotland one, two or three generations before Flintheart, and they weren't "Boers". "Boers" is Dutch for "farmers" in English; but in South Africa, it has come to mean "people of Dutch, German or French origin, who speak Afrikaans (South African Old Dutch), and are ensconsed in the Boer culture, rather than The English culture eminating from Capetown.
So, if Barks mentioned that Glomgold's heritage was Scottish, I reject the idea that Glomgold's ancestors were Boers. If he didn't, I assume they were Boers, and descended from the original Dutch Cape Colonists in the 1600s.

Don Rosa seems to have made a mistake on History, which is rather unlike him, but in the commentary for the chapter, if I recall correctly, he basically defined "boer" as "someone of European descent who was born in South Africa". In that light, I thought the most obvious hypothesis would be for Glomgold to have been born in South Africa to Scottish parents.
That's exactly what is described in the story Rob mentions.
It's "The Glomgold Heritage" by Lars Jensen and Marco Rota. It tells of how Stoneheart Glomgold—Flintheart's grandfather first seen in this story—was a Scottish hansom cab driver working in England. Later he moved to South Africa with his son, Brickheart; and there, later, Flintheart was born.
But I'm leaving out all the interesting parts of the story! Go read it for yourself (at least in the States, we published it quite recently).
