A new thread to give some leeway to the general one. If you want to specifically talk about new episodes, come here. If about the show as a whole, continue on the old one. If you got another thing to talk about it you feel merits it, make a new thread entirely.
Hum. I mostly liked this one. It had some very enjoyable comedic moments, I especialy enjoy Webby's part. Kronos was pretty intimidating villian and Hades had a cool design and lair even if they didn't do much with he character.
Cool to see Daisy agian and it was nice that they used their theme from her last apperance.
It also felt like one of better uses of Della. She wasn't annyoing but more of a supporting parent for once.
I don't know what was about the animation but it felt... better? Then in last few episodes. Maybe it's the overall visual look of the episode.
Few minor issues I had :
- I wish that Donald-Daisy story was more developed or few scenes longer. Her being upset at Donald felt to came of to fast (or at least for this version of Daisy which they established as much smarter and patient with Donald then the one we usaly see in cartoons) I think it was seriously missing some ark for Sotrkules where where he realises that messing with his friend love-live is... I don't know... wrong.
- One joke I don't care for : Dewies dancing. I get it's his thing but here it felt like very random way to cram it into the story. I would actualy like to see him action as god of dancing (in the say way the others get to use their powers in Duckburg)
- The only thing I didn't got about Webby - so other get to have ONE power and she pretty much has... many diffrent powers? Didn't she said she is the godess of friendship? Here she can fly, control the weather, control the sun... Well, how's that work? I think it would be more clever if all kids trials where base on events of actual mythological characters with supernatural powers that went wrong - at least that was patern with Louie and Huey (Midas, Cassandra)
- I don't expect this version of Mythos be true to actual greek Mythology (even if they acknowledge that Zeus and Hades are men't to be brothers unlike Disney "Hercules" movie that ignored that detail) HOWEVER... They know that Kronos is ment to be Zeuses FATHER? They don't mention it and felt like a mist opertunity for some jokes about their relationship, especialy that characters being imprisson in his belly is something myth inspired.
But aside for that a nice episode that I did nejoy and nice brake from all the F.O.W.L./Finch's journal stuff.
………did it? It's been a while since I watched it but I thought it actually absolutely acknowledged that fact.
Nope, not once. Perhaps they mention it in some tie-in materials or the aniamted series but in de facto movie it's never stated how they are related or even the fact they are a family. I guess they didn't wanted to repeat the "treacherous brother" torpe form "The Lion King" which came out only three years earlier... but to be fair it's clear they where proapbly writen as brothers in the script (with Zeus being super nice and casual towards Hades all the time while other gods try to ignore him) but if they where any refrences to that fact they where removed from the final proudct.
From what I recall there was a similiar case with "The Little Mermaid" where Ursula the sea witch was orginaly ment to be Tritons sister but it was cut out during the story development (and later this "element" reutrn in the brodway play if I'm not mistaken)
Interestingly enough in Polish dubb during the second repirse of the "Gospel truth" song the Muses do in fact refrence Hades as Hercules "uncle", but it's not the case in the oryginal language versiom, where no one ever acknowledges that Herc is related to him and vice versa.
unlike Disney "Hercules" movie that ignored that detail

Same. I just checked a Hercules' transcript online and their brotherhood is never mentioned indeed. Yet I've always know that they're brothers somehow, and I can't grasp how I learned that (I never watched the TV show as a kid nor did I own any tie-in material). Maybe the Italian dub mentioned that at some point (as a child I always watched the movie in Italian); I'll pay attention next time I watch the movie and see if the Italian dub does indeed refer to Hades as Zeus' brother. My family also never had any knowledge of greek myths, so I doubt I was told by any of them.

I dunno, I feel like it goes unmentioned because it's so *obvious* in their chemistry, rather than because they deliberately wanted to obscure the fact. (Now the fact that Hera is a sibling to both, that's perhaps something else…)

It was the first episode I where I actually felt like I was watching Scrooge McDuck and not the annoying prick he usually is in this show, too bad the other characters still sucked
OH WOW! One of first episodes in a long time that I trully loved!
Scrooge felt much more in character here (from the comics that is) and this episode was pretty cool aldventure, with some actual perils on the way, fun action and even decent atmosphere , even that cold open revealing the orgins of F.O.W.L. was cool in it's own simple way. The treasure was actualy interesting one and I love the idea behind it. Perhaps it will play a bigger part in the future (propably yes... seams like the most powerfull relict featured on this show)
This episode developes Bradford Buzzard and flresheshim out in a way that maked him feel more multi-dimentional.
Kids Donald's voice wasn't as kids Donaldish as Taylor's but I like it fine and Della felt like "Little Webby" which is maybe why I liked her here.
The letter from Scrooge's sister easter egg was brilliant! It works as a joke and if you know the frencess it's only add extra lair of irony... and it's so clever conserning this is ment to be their first adventure...
...as well YELLOW BEAK! Used in... unusual way but agian - it's a fun extra-lair for fans of the comics. I like when these easter eggs have meaning like ths rather they are just mindless name calling. They work for me great in this episode.
VonDrake's cameo was neat.
I also love the ending as it makes the main arc of the season feel bigger and more exiting. I must say, I was sepcitical but I like direction they are taking this
This episode also made me more hype for next week episode which will feature Matilda McDuck (voiced by Michelle Gomez)
And LOOK! Here's the first image of her :
That flower be better loosing one petal every frame...
Know as Maciej Kur, Mr. M., Maik, Maiki, Pan, Pan Miluś and many other names.
I still am letdown by how they handled Steelbeak. I know Angones talked about they're supposedly going to tell how he transitions from a cheap thug to one of FOWL's top agents, but I'm not seeing how they can ever believably make him act how he did in DWD.

Michelle Gomez is a very surprising bit of casting. I like it, though! Not so sure about the writing in this episode, on the other hand, judging by this clip. Bringing back “Whiskers”, HUH. How… interesting.
