Huh! I just now realise that Pepper was introduced in "The Phantom and the Sorceress"... Well, a cameo with dialog and nothing that would felt shes is a character they are seting up for the future but I gues it's nice they plan detail like that a head.
Rewatching "Fight for Castle McDuck" I must say I liked it tad more the second round and there are few funny lines I guess I missed the first time [Dewey looks at the places where statue is missing and goes "One of our ancestor was invisible?!"]
Also another realisation - They KNOW The Blot is working for F.O.W.L.? Did they ever reveal this detail in previews episode or at any point? As far the Ducks know there is no connection between him and F.O.W.L. but maybe an Egghead presence give that one away...

WOW! I *LOVED* this one! I already enjoyed last season's Christmas special and this one was even better and... well... more Christmasy in spirit.
I think shows version of Santa is great - he is pretty much all Santa tropes we seen in other show but there is a great warmness to his voice and character.
The DuckTales-verse explenation for orgins of Santa is pretty clever as well having Scrooge involve (even if some parts made me think of the movie "Claus"... but knowing how long these shows take to make and air I can't imagine that was the inspiration) The snowman fight was pretty cool and epic with some very good animation. This episode also looks great visualy.
Finaly - Scrooge. Not only we get another great Scrooge-centeric story but this one feels to explore greedy/cheap side more (and unlike something "87 Cents solution" this one treats it as more serious problem, despite pleanty of great joeks on the way) and we get some good character development. The scene with the little girl was in particular sweet and his plan was like something I can imagine Scrooge doing in the comics... at least Italian ones.
Webby had some funny lines and I even got chuckle from Della telling the story (and as you know I normaly don't care about Della)
I have only two issues with the episode.... but they don't hurt it in any shape or form and it's more of personal disapointment/prefrence :
ONE - this show spended two seasons building up Scrooges hate for Santa and... this explenation - while serve as a great episode, perhaps my second favorite this season - dosen't realy make sense in the context of what we learn so far. It's an interesting story how Scrooge broke his friendship with Santa but... can you realy imagine this being the reason for Scrooge having anger attacks over seeing Santa merch in "Last Christmas" or Webby puting Santa on Scrooge top villains list in "Jaw$"? Heck, even in "Moonvasion" Launchpad refrence Santa as "Thing Scrooge hates the most". I just don't see it as natural evolution of what we see in flash-backs. Now his hate in those episodes seams seriously disproportionate. If I had to guess I would say that they had "Scrooge has mysterious personal vendetta against Santa" joke first and they didn't realy figure it out *WHY* he hate Santa until they came to writing this episode...
TWO - Maybe it's do to the fact I miss the Beagles Boys (and I realy love shows version of their vocies) but when they show-up I got exited they will play (finaly) a bigger part in a episode but... nope, it's just one scene with few lines. It's pretty much apperance for the sake of quick conflict on the way of our heroes... Oh, well. I hope for more of them in the future.
But these are like incredeble minor neatpicks. I think it was a great episode with some good twist and heart warming moments that felt very earned.
P.S. Ok, if it felt ambigous in the first episode of the season this one comfirms Lena is living with Violet now. It's extra interesting since apperently Halloween episode and the Christmas episode where orginaly planed to be the first two episodes of the seasons (Perhaps they orginaly where planing to air the two last years right after "Moonvasion") so this would be our first time we learn about this so I guess it was ment to be a suprise that Lena is in Violets room.
Huey struggles to keep Fenton and Gandra’s top-secret experiment (and their relationship) hidden from the world. But, Mark Beaks is desperate for one last gizmo to steal.
*Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway’s “Hamilton”) returns as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera/Gizmoduck, Jameela Jamil (“The Good Place”) returns as Gandra, Selenis Leyva (“Orange Is the New Black”) returns as Officer Cabrera/M’Ma, and Josh Brener (“Silicon Valley”) returns Mark Beaks.

Be real nice if Disney could make these episodes readily available for those outside the US. It's a shame that they don't have a streaming service or anything like that that could be used to distribute it to the rest of us. Oh well, it's not like they've shut the Disney Channel down in the UK or anything like that.
...Seriously Disney do you just not want people to watch your show

"The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck" sounds interesting to me... it's nice to see Magica will have one last strong apperance. The description sort of remind me of the classic "Batman the animated series" episode title "The Trail" where all of Batman villains put him on a trail for the same thing.
In the case of Glomgold... he has a clear case in the context of the show honestly - As much I did liked the Duke Baloney episode rewatching it... yeah, Scrooge pretty much screw him over paying 10 cents as some leason and not even asking how much it cost in the first place... Or just asumed that African kid will be blown away by the concept of American money???
With the Beagles - I realy wanted to see how the Beagleburg thing will developed so I guess it's the last chance for them to do something with that story-line. The Beagles realy felt underused villains in this series (especialy last two season) and as I mentioned I think it's a shame - the idea of them finaly geting their paws on the deed of Duckburg and OWNIGN the town has so much potential for an interesting takeover but sadly it seams they wont do it in this series... oh well. At least that was something interesting hanging in the air.
And fianly I SO HOPE this episode finaly EXPLAIN why Magica wanted Scrooge's dime in the first place. "Shadow War" states Scrooge trapped her in the dime but she was trying to STEAL if from him and that there is some war between her and clan McDuck... but they never explain it so again - that's their last chance to do it...
Oh, and the "Last Adventure" maybe cool as well.
The voice cast mentioned Mayl and June... which leads a lot of fans to the "WHAT!? NO APRIL?" question however (!) I would specualted that perhaps she won't be absent as much not talkign will be somehow part of her character (like she is having a Goth faze or something)
An image shown a birthday party (not sure is it for HD&L or Webby) but guests included Fethry so at very least he will make one last apperance (even if it will be a not speaking cameo)

"The family must stop F.O.W.L's plot to end their adventures once and for all" - The Last Adventure!
The title is probably just a nod to Scrooge's Last Adventure, but... imagine, imagine if they actually had the moxxie to end the show with F.O.W.L. actually winning. It's not gonna happen in a million years, but... well, the show is constantly trying to subvert expectations, imagine they subverted the expectation that the protagonists would win in the end.
Of course, this is just me being a crackpot based on the contrast between the title and the description, but it's a fun hypothetical.

This. Never understood what was up with this version of Magica. It's one of my pet peeves regarding the show.
Martin Freeman ("The Hobbit" movies, "Black Panther", "Sherlock") will voice POE DE SPELL Magica's brother who got turn into a raven...
Now, if you don't remember the orginal show well this is a bigger deal then you may think - In orginal Duck Tales first Magica episode "Send in the Clones" Magica say her raven Poe was once her brother who got transformed into a raven...
Why? How? By who? Never expalin, as pretty much every other episode ingored this fact (in fact Poe only appeared in three episodes)
This was intriguing idea that felt like a shame that was never explored and felt like a storyline that can give Magica some additional depth (after all in that show she say when she get the dime she will be powerfull enough to turn her brother back human/duck) to the point it almost felt wird that the new Duck Tales haven't touch upon this idea yet... But now we finaly going to get this and maybe even get an explenation what happened to him!
Also Martin Freeman - Wow! The biggest guest star they got so far? In my book at least... yes.

YES! I WAS wondering where on earth he was. (Also, a guest star from Sherlock? All I need now is for Felicia Day to pop up.)

Same here. Always thought a lot more could be done with that guy.
It was nice, simple story. I like how it developed Fenton and Gandra relationship which had it's sweet moments and the use of virtual world was ok... nothing I would call especialy exiting, especialy after all the cool Gizomoduck action animation in "Astro B.O.Y.D." episode but way better use of virtual world as a plot then that dull Huey/Della subplot in season 2.
There where few good laughs, especialy from Gyro (I still not crazy about this version of the character but I can't hide he was amusing here) and Fenton's mom... especialy when she see Gandra for the first time and "Please tell me she is not virtual". Gyro & Litlte Helper are shown to have some partnership in this episode which I like.
Maybe it's my stupid adult mind but I swear they when Huey see Gandra and they go Gandra - What the-- Huey - F.O.W.L. AGENT! It soundend like she said "What the fu..."
I like that they refrence that Huey and Louie look identicial. It's been so long I forgot they are ment to be tripplets.
Ok, so what I didn't like? Well maybe not like as much was Meh about -
Beaks. He had a funny line or two but this felt like the poorest use of the cahracter in a episode where his the main villain (something I woudn't pay attention to if not for the title) He just felt like an tag-on antagonist since the episode needed one to have some conflict in the third act but it just felt lazy sort of first draft ideas how to use him... How Beaks discoveres that Fenton created a virtual reality? He simply come inside his home by the window to steal the gizmosuit and discoverse this by accident... COME ON! It's that simple? You can be more creative than this. It's a shame as virtual reality episode actualy feels perfect for Beaks since he is an internet-themed villian, but he just did the very basic.
The idea Beaks now lost all popularity and people find him pathethic was nice change but almost felt like the show saying they don't have any ideas what to do with the character anymore.
The episode also make jokes about all his obsessive attemps to steal the Gizmosuit... but... I don't know. He only did it twice before. I like the idea he isn't Scrooge enemy in the show as much he is Gizmoducks Lex Luthor but this didn't felt enough "long build rivaly" to act like this been going on forever.
Another thing I must point out - as much I think this episode mostly works on it's own is that whole idea that Gandra and Fenton had a secret relationship all this time... It makes so little sense, as if she knows all of the FOWL plans so WHY SHE DIDN'T SHARE THEM WITH FENTON WHAT THEY ARE PLANING AGAINST SCROOGE!? Or anyother of their long term plans? Was she seriously waiting to officialy quit FOWL to say all of that to Fenton? Never mind Gandra, why didn't Fenton ask? He knows they are ploting against Scrooges life! I'm not even sure the whole "She is a good guy pretending to be working for the villians" works in the context of the last episode with Gandra, the one where she temporarily blidned Dewey and Weby... Fells like a streach.
I did like the ending. They did mentioned "lost library" which of course brings to mind Don Rosa story but we see where they will go from here...

I like the character so far but funny story - The first few time I seen his art on pop-out on facebook I scroll down thinking it's just some Magica Gender-Swab fanart
