The problem with that kind of joke is the lack of long-term view. It is a reference to something that will not be understandable in a few years...not to tell in a few decades! They give away a bit of long-standing credibility for just a bit more of cheap connection with nowadays viewers, and actually even a slice of nowadays audience (as shown above, I did not get the reference, and I wish to remind you that I am not a 90 years old woman from Laos without a fast internet connection). Goddamed, even me I know that the first rule for good storytelling is to write as they will see your story in fifty years!
It's not quite clear that the "brony" joke will actually appear on the show. It looks like a comment that a Tumblr user made that amused Angones enough that he highlighted it with one of his usual non-answers. But if they really are going with it, they probably won't actually use the term "brony" or mention a non-Disney intellectual property by name. My guess is that they'll probably create an in-universe franchise that has similar levels of perceived juvelinity and simple-mindedness (note, I said perceived, I've never watched this version of My Little Pony so I can only go by the mainstream popular impression of it); the trope of a hypermasculine, coldblooded, murderous villain like DuckTales '17's Glomgold being enthralled by a show designed for prepubescent girls is likely to still be thought somewhat funny fifty year from now, even if My Little Pony is no longer around then. (Hey, maybe they could do a good-natured Simpsons/Comic Book Guy-type meta-joke, with the characters critical of the reboot of a popular in-universe comic book franchise. "They're having adults voice Captain Retro-Duck's nephews?" "I hate those dissimilar Bassett Hound Brothers!")
Also, if they were aware that Dewey's full name was Deutoronomy on Quack Pack, why not just stick with it? Change for change's sake?

Ahhh ok, sorry. I though it was some joke that I did not get watching an episode. (Which can happen, as English not my first language.) Anyhow, I was not condamning the authors for one specific reference. In any case, yes: the juvenility, as you call it, is definitely there. I think it is ok, if it does not remain the only thone of the series. Also, Glomgold is not much of a villain, but this does not exclude the possibility to see some kick-WAK bad guy in the following. Let's say that I wait to see how they play the Magica card before giving a judgment on this point...

There will definitely be more of Beaks in the future. As for backstory, it tends to come out in little things he blurts out here and there.

Well, that makes me happy, of course, but I hope it doesn't translate to a Donald appearance every ten episodes or so.
So far I have no problem with Donald being in only four episodes since they have so many characters to balance. And all the Donald-centric stuff was cool so far, felt like a perfect bland of comic book Donald and old cartoon one.

You're right, Webby's absence is highly unusual. Okay, I will reserve judgement (it's kind of strange that we've seen almost no Webby-Donald interaction in this show yet, despite the fact that Webby is apparently adventurer-Donald's biggest fan).
As far I can tell they are trying to play with difrent relationship/dynamic in each episode (last one was Scrooge/Huey, previews one was Louie/Webby) Donald/Webby can't be to far and it's an interesting idea, espeshialy since they never interacted in the oryginal show.
